I have used the cylinder-shaped zappers before - the sort that are for domestic use only. They kind of assume that domestic flies are somehow different to the type that invade butchers' shops.This Vermatic fly killer does what it's supposed to. Kills flies... And it does so with a satisfying 'crack'. I put this unit on top of a kitchen cupboard, which sounds a faff to turn on or off but isn't. I spent another £5 odd buying a remote socket unit that means all I have to do is press a button on a remote control handset to turn the unit on and off. It's good to be organised when it comes to fly killing. Carefree and easy 😊👍

Looks good and obviously works - killed 12 flies on day one. And it is still working three weeks later, a great advance on the previous two machines I bought some years ago. However, not all flies volunteer for zapping and I have invested in an auxilliary fly-swotter.

It's a neat device, just as described on the website. I have used it for over a year and find it only moderately effective - it seems to kill small flying creatures very effectively but bigger flies are simply not attracted to it, so I do need to use 'cassette' type killers and old-fashioned fly-swat. Obviously other reviewers find it more effective than I do, and I don't know why unless it is a matter of location. On my experience alone, I would not buy another.

Stopped working and died on us after only two weeks of light use. When it was working it did the job relatively well but expect more than two weeks' lifespan from a product of this cost.

I was somewhat sceptical as to whether or not this would work, but after a couple of weeks I can say that it was a very good buy. It works very well where it is, on a shelf about five feet above the floor and out of direct sunlight. It catches (and kills) not only house flies and bluebottles but also those very small flies that you might not ordinarily notice. Being chemical-free, I don't have to worry about possible effects on my dog, or spray drifting onto food or kitchen surfaces. Seems ideal to me.

Superb bit of kit. Well made and does its job and then some. We have an infestation of cluster flies in the loft and this is sorting them out with excellent results. Some get stuck on the killing grill and literally get cremated! This machine is killing dozens and dozens of flies on a daily basis and has even took out several wasps. I highly recommend.

The product looks good and works very well. Bought to use in the summer house where we are making wine (which attract insects). Has done a great job in the two weeks I have been using it. However, did notice that there were a couple of very small dents in the metal work but as they were so small decided not to send back.
