Cute pass time
Cute little instrument. I bought it for my son. He uses it has a pass time. Sounds very pretty. We printed out some song notes from the computer. The booklet that tells you how to download the app, wasn't going no where, we aren't unable to access the app.

Ok instruments
This is a very simple design with a phone holder attachment. Nothing unique about it. Sounds great and feel in hands. Wish it's more eye apeel with engraved designs. The only thing that I have a problem with is that when the phone is attached, the weight is top heavy and trying to play while holding in an angle is a little challenging for a period of time plus the app they suggested to play with the instrument is unusable. Don't understand a thing.

HOW TO USE THE APP!!
* Go to YouTube* Search for creator: My Spring Lullaby* Look for their video called: Cupid - Fifty Fifty* Look in the author's video description. This will take you to the app from your app store. The instructions that come with the piano will have a username and password. Enter it.This little piano is beautiful! Even though I'm terrible at it, it still sounds beautiful.

This thing is GREAT!
I love this thing. I got it for my son, but I think I have been enjoying much much more than him! Even if you don’t want to learn to play actual songs, it’s just nice to sit around and strum when you’re watching tv or have time to kill. There is an app that you can download for it, so you can mount your phone and learn to play songs. It’s kind of like Guitar Hero, where the notes “flow” toward the kalimba and you strum them as they reach you. The app has a button to click to switch the language to English, but some of the options still don’t translate. This does not hinder you in any way from using it though. I used the menu for kids songs, and was happy to see some easy favorites like “You are my Sunshine”, “Mary had a little lamb”, and “Twinkle Twinkle little star” just to name a few.The construction of this kalimba is solid. It’s a good quality instrument that will last a long time. It has instructions for how to go about tuning it, but there are a variety of apps out there you can use if you don’t like what the manufacturers recommend. If you don’t like the app they supply with it, there are other kalimba apps out there that work just as well.Very good and FUN product. Highly recommend.

Need to install an app on your own smart phone for this to run
This is not a self contained package. It is a 17-note solid kalimba and a phone holder. The kalimba itself is nicely finished and is a "solid body" with no sound ports. It does resonate on the lower keys. The highest 2 keys don't sustain well (D & E). Otherwise, it's small and easy to hold. It comes with 2 rubber thumb picks that you might be able to use if your thumbs are small enough. You have to scan a QR code on paper provided to get1) An installation tutorial ("address is invalid" error)2) Tuning instructions (somebody's - not Jooleer - posted video)3) An app for your smart phone (you can search "zhilekalinba" in the app store also)The only English on the app page is "Get." When you "Get" and "Install," a blue Kalimba icon with Chinese under it will be on your phone.Tap on the icon to run, and a box pops up filled with Chinese. I hit the "green" choice as I recognized the "no" Chinese character on the right. This takes you to the login screen. The default login screen is in Chinese for a "Cell Phone" and "Verification Code" login. Click the "English" in the upper right and the login boxes will become English, but will still be logging in with a phone number. The Username and Password from the instruction sheet will not work on this default login screen.Look for "Username Login" in small letters and click on that to get to the "Username" and "Password" login.Enter the numbers supplied into the "Username" and "Password" boxes. The app ran and it wanted access to the microphone. There is no longer any English.Choose the "17" in the "Chinese" choice boxes as this is a 17-key kalimba. To get to the songs, select "Song Library" and there are 6 choices for types of songs. Choosing "Classic Songs," there was more Chinese. "Track Mode," gives falling colors that landed on the different Kalimba keys. However, I couldn't find any "Back" on the "Track" screen and had to close the app. I then had to login again. Each time you close the app, you will need the supplied numbers to login again.Other songs must be first downloaded clicking on the "download" icon before it will play. It took a while, but at last it indicated it was downloaded with a "check" mark. When playing, you can speed the song up or slow it down as well as pause. The other two playback options have a back button that will take you to the song choice page. Other choices take you to a subscription page for this app. With this "Smart Kalimba," the app is only free for a year and then you have to subscribe. The song lists are mainly in Chinese, even when it might be a Western tune. You can recognize some from the picture with the song.Overall, this app has been negative experience. I got tired of having to go through the login process each time I started the app and then guess at the songs.2 stars. At least the Kalimba is OK but if you wanted something in lieu of lessons, knowing Chinese might help.
