Compact and good value
I purchased this after considerable assessment of the various anemometers. I was reluctant to get the small meters using the CR3032 button cells and I was not keen to have the larger meters. This is comfortably small and light but is powered by three AAA cells. To my surprise they were genuine Duracell batteries.I tested the accuracy against my bicycle GPS whilst cycling to cause airflow. It gave reasonably similar readings. The thermometer also compares with the Garmin reading and as with all electronic thermometers you need to give time for the sensor to equilibriate with the surroundings. It's not an instant response that some seem unreasonably to expect.I like that it has a screw to secure the battery compartment as this ensures the cover stays in place and the batteries do not fall out. A basic No. 0 or 1 Philips should be suitable.I was a little sceptical of the reviews which mostly seemed to be from users chosen to receive the anemometer for free but can vouch that the meter performs well and is good value.

Maybe it's windy?!
The media could not be loaded. UNBOXING AND WHAT YOU GETYou open up the box to reveal a manual, the unit itself, batteries, and a cloth carry case. The manual is pretty light on details but then most of them are. The batteries and carry case are a nice additional extra!! It's nice not to have to buy batteries for this.BUILD QUALITY AND LOOKSThe build quality seems okay. The whole thing is grey plastic with some orange splashes of colour on the sides. Aside from the slightly light and plastic build ( to be expected given the price ) it seems pretty well put together. However, it arrived with one scratch at the top of the display which wasn't noticeable till I took it out into the light. Upon further careful inspection I saw there are in fact other very faint scratches on the screen. Since it is inside the box this has not storage or shipping issue. This had to be like this when it left the manufacturer. I can think of two probable reasons for this, either this is actually a refurbished unit or it was subject to poor quality control. Those are my theories. Since I only have a sample size of one I can't be sure if I'm simply unlucky if this is an actual issue with these devices from this company. I think it's worth bearing in mind though when making a purchase. ( see my last photo to see largest scratch )SET UPYou need to insert the batteries ( which come packed with it ) first. This involves removing a screw at the back to free the door to the battery compartment. This is a really annoying design feature. Why can't it just have a clip or button to open it up? Sure, you won't have to open it very often but I think it's a design flaw. What if a customer buys this but doesn't have a correct screwdriver? ( You need a small Philips screwdriver ) so be aware if you are buying this.Beyond that it's simply a case of turning it on setting what measurement units you want and if you want your temp in F or C and away you go! It's simple and easy to use and the manual does a good job of letting you know what buttons do what thing.USAGEThe display is fairly bright and clear and of a decent size. You can press a button to the back light which is pretty bright. I'm not sure what it would be like on a super sunny day though. As far as temperature goes it took a long time to settle. The manual says 1 or 2 mins but I found it to be more like 10 mins. The final temp it settled on was fairly close to what the weather said it was forecast to be so that seems okay apart from the long time to settle. The air speed reading seems to work well and there are a lot of units of measurements to cycle through! You can also set it to a min or max airspeed so you will know if you go over or under that. I haven't got anything to compare or calibrate against so I'll have to assume it's accurate.CONCLUSIONIt arrived with cosmetic defects and the battery compartment needs a screwdriver to open so might be annoying if you don't happen to have one. Slow to settle on a final temperature but otherwise seems to do a good job of measuring airspeed, humidity, and temperature. Appreciate the fact there is a cloth bag and batteries included.

Awesome kit
This one works really well, especially at night where I need to use it for drone flying.
