Superb quality for the price and a very good seller
I've now used this a fair few times both with heavy stubble and with just a day's growth and using a variety of shaving soaps and shaving creams. It's a good quality brush - superb for the price - from Semogue a Portugese manufacturer about whose products I'd heard good things. It's made of boar which causes some people to downgrade it but in fact it's possible to get a badger brush that doesn't perform nearly as well as this and pay an awful lot more. Believe me I know because I've done it. For me this one is perfect just the right blend of stiffness and softness. It's very easy to work up a good lather which the brush holds well. By way of an experiment I did one shave with just wetting the brush and then proceeding direct to making the lather. Still very satisfactory results which tells you a lot about the quality of this brush. It's a good idea to soak it hot water for a few minutes but you don't need to - really that is impressive. The loft is pretty well the ideal for me. I like the square somewhat stubby handle and it looks like what it is a good quality product. I've been using it for nearly a fortnight so too early to talk about how long it will last but given that I've only noticed one - count 'em, ONE - hair shed and that it's a nice dense knot I don't think there'll be any problems with longevity. Frankly given what it cost it wouldn't have to last long to be better value - much better value, than far more expensive products from the big names. (I've never believed in paying for labels). While I think of it it doesn't smell strongly in fact the entirely normal smell of new brush was gone after the second shave and I did not do anything other than use bog standard Arko shaving soap and rinse it out for the first two shaves. After nearly a fortnight of using it I'm already more than happy that my money was well spent. The service from the vendor: I've already reviewed this so I won't waste your time or mine doing it again. To summarise, in my experience of them Portuguese Factory are a very good professional and helpful seller who sell good quality products at a good price. The product arrived long before I thought it would. I'll be using Portuguese Factory again.Summary: Superb product at a very good price that looks, feels, and performs like something that costs a LOT more. Really you can't go wrong. The seller's service was very good.

Looks great, works well, long lasting and a good price...
This is an excellent brush, at a very reasonable price.- It has little or no smell, and doesn't need shampooing or any kind of pre-first-use treatment- The bristles are nice and stiff, and stay fairly stiff for a decent amount of time (I've had mine for months, using it around 5-6 times a week, and it's still very useable)- There have been no loose bristles, at all- The clear acrylic handle is a really nice touch. It looks good, and under the light on my bathroom shelf, the red logo glows in a very attractive mannerBags of character, longevity, a good price and it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Five stars, no question.

Great value
Super brush. Soft enough on face, stiff enough to form good lather on 'hard' shaving soap. No bristle loss. Very pleased and impressed. Oh, looks great too.

Another great brush from Semogue
Another great brush from Semogue. This one is great for face lathering (which I prefer) because it has a lot of backbone. Once it is broken in and the hairs split, it is also very soft. However, be aware that it does take time to break in. It took me three weeks of daily shaves and initially I almost gave up because of the poor quality lather I was getting, But I persevered and now I am rewarded with rich lather from soap or cream. It is on the small side, which makes it easy to maneuver around your face, but if you are used to something like an Omega 49, this little Semogue may disappoint you. For me it is just perfect. No smell either when it was new and it has not shed a single hair in over a month's use. And the acrylic handle is just brilliant!

Great brush - just haven't got around to using it much yet.
I have only used this brush a few times as at the moment I am using my other Semogue (830) to try and use up all creams in my collection before embarking on my collection of soaps (for which I will use this brush). This brush feels like it is every bit as good as the 830 just that the profile of the knot is different due to the way it is cut and shaped - it feels like it has more backbone, more focus and hence would be a better brush for soaps - this is just my personal preference, I'm sure that both Semogue brushes I have could do an admirable job with soaps or creams just that while I have both I would use the 830 with creams and keep the 620 for soaps. The construction of the knot and the handle is up to the usual Semogue standard (which if you haven't had the joy of using a Semogue brush is first class!)Probably when I have got around to using this brush more I will change the review to 5 stars.

Very very good.
The 620 is a good brush for face lathering, particularly well suited for use with hard soaps over creams that help produce a thick consistent lather. Breaking in rather quicker than I thought it would after cleaning the brush with a few lathers first. A brush with lots of backbone that is highly regarded in the wet shaving community for good reason. These brushes are made in a small workshop in Portugal, largely hand crafted, by highly skilled craftsmen with a passion for what they do. And at very good, affordable prices, they knock the socks off more expensive badger brushes that have possibly been massed produced by machines.

Particularly good for soaps and face lathering
What a fantastic brush! This is my first boar brush after years of badgers, and it's been a revelation. It's particularly good for people like me who prefer a face lather to a bowl lather. It's got a stiffness to it which aids face lathering, but it's never harsh or spiky. That extra stiffness also comes in handy if you're lathering soap from a tub.Mine seemed to break in very quickly and I was up and running in no time. It looks stylish and is well worth the money. One tip is that the brush takes longer to dry than a badger, even when stored upside down as recommended. I wonder if this might mean that it could start to smell a bit if used every day, so I will either alternate with a badger or buy another!

Pinsel Top, Versandverpackung Flop

Awesome brush. Unbeatable price.
I purchased this brush to replace a Semogue Owner's Club brush that arrived damaged. The SOC is a beautiful brush but I was concerned about how the wood handle would hold up. And since this brush has an acrylic handle and so many positive reviews I decided to go with the 620. It is a smaller brush but since I face lather it is perfect. This brush has tons of backbone and made short work of my Williams Mug soap, which is notoriously difficult to lather. This was only my first time using it and it performed wonderfully. I didn't find it excessively rough on my skin either for not even being broken in. I did notice that even after just one use the bristles have already begun to split and the knot has bloomed a bit. I can only imagine how much better it will get as it is used more. There was a very slight wet animal odor but nothing terrible. This is expected most of the time with boar hair although it seems to be hit or miss. Sometimes they stink and sometimes not so much. As far as quality goes it is top notch. This is my first Semogue brush as all my others are Omegas. This has a much more luxurious feel with the solid handle compared to the hollow plastic handles of the Omegas. It's not that the Omega's are bad brushes because they all perform great but this one just has a nicer feel in the hand. This brush was a great purchase. It performs great out of the box and will only get better. And at less than $20 it is tough to beat. I don't fault anyone for paying more for badger hair. It's all personal preference with wet shaving. But it's tough for me to justify the extra cost when you can get such great results with a well-made boar brush. This probably isn't the best choice if you like to bowl lather because of the smaller knot but if you face lather this is the perfect brush. It definitely delivers.

Achetez !!!
