I bought this box cutter because it was advertised as safer than your regular box cutter. Historically, I have often cut myself with standard box cutters. I have found this one very easy to use and I have not cut myself once. It even has a great design, which is much more usable than your standard one. I think I recall that when I bought it, the detailed description said that the blade (ceramic?) lasts much longer than the usual metal blades. I have actually purchased 2 of these because I keep them in different places in the apartment, and neither of the blades has gotten dull. Great product!

It’s a great option if you open a lot of boxes at home or at work and want something a little safer than the usual utility knife.The handle has a unique shape that feels ergonomic and solid in the hand—it doesn’t slip or strain your wrist. I also appreciate the three-position manual slider, which makes it easy to control how much of the blade is exposed.That said, it’s not the best tool for super tough materials like thick plastic strapping, and the handle might feel a bit bulky if you have smaller hands.

My job requires opening shipment boxes regularly. After cutting my thumb in the same spot with a dull blade numerous times over the years, I decided to “invest” in a better box cutter. After using for a few months I highly recommend this box cutter. The quality is great and the ergonomic design makes it easy to use. The blade has remained sharp (estimating 200 +/- boxes opened thus far). Most importantly, it met my one requirement — the curved handle prevents me from cutting my thumb on the opposite hand.

I purchased this to break down cardboard boxes for recycling. However, while comfortable to hold; the blade is so small that it doesn't cut through cardboard. I have to go over the cut several times until it goes all the way through so I have to be careful how I use it.
