Cancel Christmas
Great fun great romp made Alan Rickman a household name overnight the quality of the copy makes a 30 year old look brand new the amount of different actors that get forgotten that are. In it Brian blessed for a start also I had never noticed there is a painting in medieval style of Costner above the fireplace in blessed room the comedy is still funny no matter how long you watch example why a spoon cos it's blunt you idiot it'll hurt more if you want fun enjoyable action adventure you cant get better just don't cancel ChristmasI

A costume romp - for a wet Sunday afternoon
If you can overlook the fact that American accents werent heard in England until the 19th century, and we were at war with the celts (Scots) then you can forgive Kevin Costner and Sean Connery for being miscast, and enjoy some tongue in cheek escapism with a chunk of cheese and a glass of wine on an afternoon with not much better to do :)

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - 2022 Arrow Blu-ray edition
One I’ve owned on and off over the years but which I now have again in this new presentation with a new 4K based restoration featuring the theatrical and extended versions of the film.Simultaneously a bit dated, but still huge fun thanks to the excellent cast, it again tells the story of Robin Hood and his band of merry men, fighting against the evil Sheriff of Nottingham to protect the Kingdom from villainy.Films looks truly fantastic again (it’s always great to be able to compare the new picture quality against old trailer footage etc so you can really see how much better it is) and it also sounds great.Extras wise, several hours of material are included. There are two enjoyable and worthwhile commentaries (which play on the extended version), which seem to be from the early 2000’s and (probably) an old tenth anniversary historical release, a new 67 minute making of documentary (no main actors appear nor director Kevin Reynolds, but the writing/producing team), plus an archive 1991 promo event hosted by a pre-Bond Pierce Brosnan, archival cast interviews, trailers, photo galleries, the Bryan Adams music video, and in this edition an illustrated booklet with essays etc.A good enough release, brought down only slightly by the fact most of the extras are pre-existing ones.

Fully uncut
Brilliant picture quality, night and day difference. This is by far the best version of this movie that I've seen so far.

Very Good, once you get past the confusion of US, UK packaging variations.
I had the "Extended Edition" on DVD with a light brown box and the shadow of Robin / Marion on the shore line. Despite the dodgy editing on some scenes in the extended version, I preferred it with all the extra scenes of the Alan Rickman. This was the version I wanted to get on Blu Ray, but the UK Blu Ray version of this movie (as pictured, of which I am now reviewing) has the old original cinematic poster on the cover, and does not state that it has the extended version on the front. Its only in the tiny writing on the back that this is explained, and it does not show very well on Amazon. This IS the extended version with all of the extra scenes spliced into the movie. The "extended" DVD was also strange in that it was "Extended", but all of the violence & language was cut out!! How stupid is that?! This Blu Ray version has all the "cut" bits put back where they belong: The chopped off hand, Christian Slaters whip marks, Rotty humorously trying to get a 'better' angle with Marion, and the famous "F... me, he cleared it!" line. The picture quality is far better than the DVD version, though it's not up to par with some of the newer blu ray releases, but its still the best this film has ever looked for home release by 50 miles. The sound is also amazing and anyone who does not get all fired up by the soundtrack (Not the Bryan Adams song though!) is a fool - Best score to a film ever. For those of you wanting the full extended and uncut edition who are a little confused about which version to buy on amazon, this UK one with the shot of Robin firing a flaming arrow on the cover IS the definitive version, despite it not actualy saying so on the cover or even in the amazon heading or description.

All action!! Great!
Loved this in the early 1990s. Was reminded of it when playing a Bryan Adams CD in the car. Really enjoyed watching the film 30 years on! Very good!
