Perfect for Plein air.

This is a near replica Holbein which is now unobtainable. These palettes are wonderful. Light yet reasonably sturdy. Thumb hole so you can paint outdoors with them. The paint somehow mixes and remains on the metal much better than on plastic or ceramic palettes. I now have 5 of them in different sizes. I think the original Holbeins were sturdier but 3 times this price. So buy 3 !!! I was amazed at how much easier it is to mix paints on metal. A revelation. Marvellous

I was a little nervous about this purchase after reading some reviews. I need not have worried. This does exactly what I wanted. Light weight.metal as I much prefer that for mixing and longer stain proofing. Closes well. Plenty of space so I can have colours for different genres in one studio (ahem kitchen table) setup. Wells well defined and slanted. If I had to nitpick divisions on mixing wells could be a little higher but they work fine. Overall v pleased. Ps can’t speak to leakproof as too hot right now, washes drying as I paint. However non of the metal tins I have are truly waterproof. If I need to move it about I either paint till the washes are used up or clean them off with a rag.

A little disappointed with the thin gauge , seems a bit on the thin side ,only time will tell if it holds together , otherwise it is a nice pallet.The inside has enamel mixing area and nice size wells . Looking forward to putting it to task with my Winsor and Newton water colours.

I only bought this this week. I am delighted with it, I saw Artist Alan Owen singing it's praises on You Tube recently so decided to try it. I have been looking for a large metal palette for a while. The mixing areas are large however I will not use the thumb rest so that would be better for me as a further mixing area. Otherwise it is a large metal palette with 30 paint holders and two and a half mixing areas. Quite sturdy which I need as I have arthritis and often drop my palettes when moving them from one position to another.. ILarge sturdy pa

I'm so disappointed with this palette, apart from the fact that the palette came bent and squashed on one side (because of the total lack of protective packaging) the overall quality is dreadful, the joints have cracks, this is a major problem as it's for watercolour so the water and pigments will inevitably go through these. It's totally unacceptable and a complete waste of time, I strongly believe Amazon should be more selective of which products are sold on their platform and set some higher quality standards

This isn't the most robust, leak-proof palette but for my needs it's absolutely perfect. It's made from lightweight enamelled aluminium which isn't airtight when closed, so paint does dry. But that's easily revived by spraying with water before use. When closed, it's very compact and easy to store.My palette has 20 wells which is more than enough for me but you can get others in the range which have more wells. Plenty of space for mixing colours, though if you have a need for big washes, you may need an extra mixing palette.

I have several of these aluminium palettes, they are great for watercolours from the tube and I find the white enamel is great for mixing your colours on and so easy to clean off. I find it very useful, especially with a lid to keep the paints clean or to use as a large mixing tray
