BOSSDS-2 Turbo Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal
A**.
Quality and price
Bought it for my lad, who wanted a decent distorter pedal. I was going to buy something more expensive, expecting to have to pay £100+, but we read the reviews, and went for this one instead. Great decision, he loves it, does everything he needs it to do, more. Highly reccomended!

Sounds like middle age spirit.
Watched documentary on nirvana and saw Kurt using this on his pedal board. Nevermind has always been one of my all time favourites and noticed him using it live on several tracks from this.Played along with full album using this pedal and it was absolutely spot on. Delighted with it.

The best distortion pedal out there.
I love the DS2, the distortion you can generate ranges from mild to raucous and I love playing around with the various bits in between. It's a solid box that could be kicked around and easily survive. My favourite pedal by far!

Simple but effective
Possibly the best value pedal in existence, used by bedroom players and big names alike. Some say it's overly fizzy but that's what the tone control is there for. I've not used it on humbuckers however. I have it in the loop of a noise suppressor, which - like any high gain pedal - it needs if you like lots of distortion and are fussy about a clear signal during those lulls.

Boss quality all the way
It literally does what it says on the box. And it does it well. And so you know, it does come with a battery, although I changed it immediately to a new Duracel.

Eh
The DS-1 is okay but quite honestly a lot of its competitors can do a lot more for around the same price. I'd say it's good if you only want a very limited old classic rock guitar tone but not for anything more.

I would recommend this pedal to you
Boss ds-1 distortion is still one of the best ones out there, it already had a 9V battery inside it so I didn't have to buy a power supply, the battery lasted for 3 weeks and then died. You can change the tone and distortion levels so I think this would be an ideal pedal for me.Overall I love this distortion pedal and I would definitely recommend it to you. Yes you, the person reading this review.

Wonder little pedal.
I’ve always stayed away from pedals and favoured modelling amps - my guitar teacher always said “learn to play the bloody guitar first then worry about effects” - but I treated myself to this as my first one and to say I’m impressed would be an understatement. Leaves my digital tones in the shade and dead easy to work with only three knobs. I can’t recommend this highly enough and for the price it’s a steal. Definitely be buying a couple more Boss pedals for my future pedal board.Outstanding!
