Great piece of kit
Really nice scanner, it needs programming but if you've had one before like ie it, then it's fairly easy. There are instructional videos on u-tube to help you get up and running.Standard airiel and rechargeable batteries come with it too, a charger and USB cable to connect up to computer or charge.

Great Purchase
Scanner was recommended for first time user. Bit difficult at first to use. Husband went on you tube and found some great advice and videos. He just loves it.

"PC programming" yes, but the software is £23.99 from a third party!
The scanner itself is all I expected from reviews, but stated on the box is "PC programming" and a URL is provided in the instruction booklet. The url takes you to "butel.nl" where the software is available for £23.99. I think that if they say the radio is PC programmable, they should provide free software, or at least tell the buyer the price of the software.

Scanner feedback
This is a nice little hand held scanner which is fairly easy to use and if you struggle to understand how to program channels then there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube. I received it pretty quickly too which was pleasing. The only thing I would recommend would be to get a slightly better aerial.

Not worth the money.
The screen scratches easily. The rechargeable AA batteries included last for about 6 hours before going flat. It takes a lot of effort to figure out how to operate. The radio is PC programmable but the software only supports Windows and costs extra. Unless you live near a high activity area such as a hospital, industrial estate or a shopping precinct you might not pick up much. Scanners receive short range transmissions like hospital security or fast food drive through. The radio requires a better third party antenna. The radio is deaf with the supplied antenna. No case supplied. Belt clip cannot be removed without a screwdriver.

Quick delivery, great item
I attend the RIAT at Fairford every other year and decided to treat myself to a scanner. Asked other RIA attendees andthis was the resounding recommendation for an excellent, solid scanner for a starter like myself.Order the scanner and arrived two days later, well wrapped within bubble wrap to avoid any damage, thank you (to the puppy who packed it).I used the scanner last week, listening into Fairford Tower and Ground crew, plus Brize Norton and some pilot chatter, it brought a whole new dimension to my attendance at the airshow. You have to read the instructions and try out searching, scanning and storing thr channels. I managed to do it, without help and having never used a scanner before.
