15/12/2015 Morocco by motorbike
December 15th 2015 I set off on my 1200 gs bike to Morocco. I bought this book and took it with me along with a map. This book was very helpful throughout my journey. I got the ferry from Tarifa, Spain which took 40 mins. I bought an open return ferry ticket from an agent near the port for 114 euro,s. I arrived in Tangiers and waited at the port for my clearance which took approx. an hour. Nobody asked for money, plenty of officials gave me help and support to fill in the forms. I gave them my passport and v55 vehicle form. They did not ask to see my insurance or driving license.Once given the all clear I rode to Rabbat took about 4 hrs and booked into a hotel. I changed £200.00 with a money changer for Moroccan cash, very easy, got 15 dirhams to the pound. I spent 6 days riding round Morocco, staying in top class hotels for £35.00 per night.Everyone was helpful and easy to get on with in Morocco. Definitely recommend anyone wishing to visit = to go. It is simple.

A fantastic guide from the Godfather of Adventure Motorcycling
A great book from the Godfather of Adventure Motorcycling. Chris Scott's first book 'Desert Biking' is what made me buy a motorcycle. Many years after buying it, I still like to leaf through 'The Adventure Motorcycling Handbook' with a whisky in hand while planning trips, despite the fact I know it pretty much back to front. This is a great guide to perhaps the most accessible (to Europeans) Adventure Motorcycling location on the planet. I'm off there soon and plan to use this book to access some great remote landscapes and lonely trails. I'd give it five stars but I'd love to see some more detailed maps of critical junctions/navigational grey areas.

Otherwise some great adventures, I'm taking the book next month to ...
This book should not have ignored Tizi nTest, he's hardly mentioned it, has the author driven this pass ... I dont think so, it is dangerous and should be explained to the drivers who hire cars in marrakech and try the pass ( thats me ... unaware of the problems) .Otherwise some great adventures, I'm taking the book next month to try some of Chris' s routes. Thanks

Great for info and ideas and made a solid contribution ...
Great for info and ideas and made a solid contribution to a crackin 10 day mountain bike tour of the anti-atlas. Sits with hamish brown's atlas mountain guide radiating trip-morocco advice, insight, inspiration and information from my bookshelf.
