GREAT LENS BUT I HAVE A NIGGLE......
Lens arrived on time..... (some 14 days from Hong Kong). Not an Amazon sale. I was impressed by the packaging (from Hong Kong). I noted that it was despatched from a ground floor flat on Devon Rd HK. I was not impressed by the fact that the security seal had been broken on the box it was opened. See photo above. I immediately applied for a return, Then something happened that had not happened before when shopping at Amazon.... the supplier phoned me up to establish what the problem is. I was offered a story I still find a bit thin. Other things that made me curious - not the expected black/red box. No gold lettering on the lense barrel. I am just a bit twitchy. I called the guy back in Leeds after I had opened & tested the lens on my Nikon Z6 24 meg. Pxl. The lense is good... V. good. See the 2 samples above. The money is at 200% enlargement....... The Miranda camera is a studio shot enlarged to 100%. I agreed to keep the lens. The supplier offers the g'tee. Not Sigma. Lets see how it goes.

Incredible glass?
I have this lens adapted for use using viltrox EF to RF adapter on my EOS R.To say I'm blown away would be an understatement! This compares in sharpness to my Sigma 35 1.4 and that is an amazing piece of glass that has sharpness for days! It's well renowned for its image quality, and this 24-70 matches up perfectly! If you're a wedding photographer I highly recommend this lens! The images are beautiful!

Top-class performance and image quality
This Sigma 24-70mm Art lens is simply superb. Image quality is very sharp with great contrast, throughout the entire zoom range. This holds true even when shooting at the widest aperture, which gives beautifully soft and smooth rendition for defocused areas within a scene. Colour fringing, distortions, ghosting and flare are all minimal. Build quality and handling are great and, although it's not a 'weather-sealed' lens, a rubber gasket on the mounting plate helps to avoid the ingress of dust or water between the camera body and the lens. Autofocus is fast yet very quiet, and the optical stailizer has an effectiveness of about 3 to 4 stops.I write camera and lens reviews for a number of photography magazines and use both Canon and Nikon DSLRs. Faced with the choice of which standard zoom lens to buy, and after testing all the options, I went for this Sigma lens in preference to both of the equivalent top-grade Canon and Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 lenses. I don't regret it for a moment.

Marvellous gohto piece of kit
This in now my go to lens. It would be 5stars all the way but images are not quite as sharp as those taken with my prime lenses. Having said that, the quality is extremely high so no complaints.

UK buyer beware
Bought from Amazon UK. Supplied by Amazon EU. Unfortunately, upon registering discovered that the warranty is not applicable to the UK. £40 extra for any repairs. Would have returned it and bought a legit UK import from another retailer but for the fact that the lens I have needs no additional calibration. That said, I will no longer be buying any other expensive goods supplied by Amazon EU that benefit from warranty registration.

Focussing Problems
I bought and returned 2 of these to Amazon. I was using with Canon 80D and found both to have major back focussing issues. I managed to do some corrections but never got them fully working. I didn’t feel it was sensible to keep a £1000+ product I had to fix myself! I would be interested to see if other people experience the same problems (this topic doesn’t come up in any reviews I’ve seen).

Not worthy of the "Art" badge.
I purchased this lens from Wex Photographic a couple of weeks ago but had to return it as it's horribly soft. I tried using the Sigma USB dock to do some micro adjustments, however found that it didn't help. Using the lens at 24mm I found I had to stop down to about f8 to achieve a level of sharpness that was "satisfactory". Throughout the rest of the focal range, it was ok from about f5.6 and smaller. I did not expect a brand new Sigma Art release to be as much of a disappointment as this was. Seeing as f2.8 is unusable, you may as well go for the Sigma 24-105 f4 Art for much better sharpeness and a fraction of the price.
