Great value and lovely nibs to write with
This is a lovely set at a very reasonable price. I am a total novice and I love the Hunt 101 nibs (only my technique occasionally lets them down). These nibs are very sharp and are supposed to be! They need a very light touch on the upstroke or they will snag and you will end up with ink splats on your work. But with practice you will get better.I would not recommend these nibs for an absolute beginner as most will be a little too heavy handed to get the best from them. Having said that if you treat with a very light touch, there is no reason why you can't use them as a beginner. I would recommend this set anyway for beginners as you get the oblique nib holder included, into which you can put more beginner friendly 'G' nibs in, and when you are more used to using nibs you will have the 101's to try out.

Excellent starter pen for those wanting to try something new.
Great starter pen for those wanting to try an oblique pen holder. Easy to use, doesn't require pliers to change nibs just a small piece of paper towel to stop oil from your hands contaminating the nib. Only down side is after a while the nib is becoming lose in the holder from use. That's why this is a great starter pen to try before you invest in the much more expensive pens out there. Added bonus, an assortment of nibs included.

Looks like a good beginner's model oblique pen. Great price. Quick delivery. This might be just what you need to get started with this amazing style of writing.

Reasonable starter set I would say, mobs are very scratchy making anything other than downstrokes very difficult.

Good dip pens for a beginner
A beginner to using dip pen and this dip pen works well with Speedball Super Black India Ink

Never got it to stop scratching, wasted my money really

Total disappointment.
After two hours of watching Youtube videos and instructions to ensure I was using it right, I have yet to accomplish a single stroke! Blobs, scratchy, splashes. Total disappointment.
