Hydra Performance® Controller for Nintendo GameCube Wired Gamepad PINK

My kids said that they enjoy their controllers. They've had them for a few months now. They work great so far. It's a very light weight controller compared to other ones however. They complained about how it felt in their hands like it could break easily. But they haven't yet so...so far so good!! The actual game play itself seems normal with the controllers. They haven't experienced any lag or stuck buttons. Nothing. Their only complaint is the light weight feeling of the controller itself but they seem to be use to the light weight now and enjoy using them. (For the price I'd expected it to be light weight so I can't really complain about that lol)So all in all I think that this controller is a great buy for the price and I would recommend it to others.

**NOTE** THE FIRST PART OF THIS REVIEW IS OLD, I'M POSTING AN UPDATED VERSION BELOW IT!The color is great, and me being a fan of Pink, I was very excited when this arrived.It looks good. The feel isn't too bad. It obviously isn't Nintendo Brand quality, but really when you're playing you won't feel too much a difference.Both the Analog / C-Stick worked fine. They felt a little different, but it actually wasn't bad at all. Pretty similar to Nintendo's feel, just slightly different.However, my problem comes with the buttons...You can't just "tap" the button to get what you want done.For example, I tested this controller on Phantasy Star Online. To get my guy to do the action for "B" button, I have to REALLY press down HARD on the button to get the game to respond. It's also the same with the "X / Y" buttons. A, you have to somewhat press down, but not as hard. However, A and Start are the only real buttons that are usable without having to actually press down HARD on the button, and while annoying, the only two real (bare minimum) tolerable buttons.Now, if it's just a defective controller and the issue gets resolved, I'd be more than happy to re-evalute the controller. I'm hoping it's just a defective controller or something, but if what I described is just how the controller is, then I really wouldn't recommend it unless you don't mind have to constantly press (and not just tap, but REALLY PRESS) down on the buttons to get them to work.The Triggers were actually okay. They are slightly stiffer than Nintendo Brands, but they actually work pretty well and feel close to a Nintendo Brands. They are responsive and you don't have to press all the way down (like the buttons B and such) to get a response.**UPDATE**So, I sent in a claim for a defective controller. They were very co-operative, and sent me another controller. This controller worked so much better out of the box. I believe it was just a malfunctioned controller. Now, ALL the buttons work as they should (some you still have to slightly press, but it's nothing too bad. I'm sure over time, the buttons will loosen and it won't even become a problem). All the buttons can be tapped, or slightly hard-tapped, to get them to work, as opposed to the pressing down hard. So, this controller works very similar to a Nintendo Brand, and as people have said, I would call it the next best thing. If you're a fan of Pink, I would definitely recommend buying this as it's a cheap price, the color is very good, and it works fairly well. It still does have minor gripes, but overall the controller works and gets what you need done, so it's definitely worth picking up if you need a controller and are a fan of pink.

Read all the "horror" reviews on this product but I have no idea what they're talking about! It's a GREAT product, very light, & I've dropped it 3 times in the 2 or 3 weeks I've owned this & not a single scratch or mishap. Buttons are little stiff but break in after a while. Overall it's a very durable & great product & I am very satisfied with it (:

It's a very OK controller. The L and R triggers don't feel good and almost like they're scraping every time you press them and the Z trigger clicks and requires a bit of force but that's ok if you like clicky keys. The control stick and the c stick both feel cheap and the normal buttons feel off. The only thing this control is good for is a case swap. I just took old GameCube controller parts and replaced them. It works great after you pretty much swap out everything out. The case feels nice and durable and feels exactly like the original GameCube controller.

The controller arrived on time in delivery and works like a charm. It can feel a bit lighter-weight or weaker than a regular Nintendo brand Gamecube controller, but it still holds itself together and works perfectly. Super glad I purchased it and have it.

My favorite thing about this controller is that it's pink, but that's the only thing. Which got me very disappointed because this controller did not work like it was high performance. I kept on having to unplug and replug in the controller because the joystick stopped working and kept on having my character move to the right with no way of stopping it. Very poor and very disappointed.

Recently started playing Smash with some friends and since our controllers were old and kind of laggy I decided to purchase a new one. This is the cheapest I could find that stayed true to the original layout and feel of a GC controller. The controller works great and I didn't have to break it in. As others have pointed out already the L and R buttons are springy and the Z is clicky but I haven't experienced an issue with this while playing. It's very lightweight, which I personally love, but for someone who gets easily outraged and can't control their strength and treats it harshly or this would be pretty flimsy.However, I'm giving this product 2 stars because it only worked flawlessly the first time I plugged it into the GC. Now I have to tape it still somewhere after finding it's sweet spot because it wont connect as firmly as the original GC controller. Kind of like when your phone charging cable gets beat up and you have to keep moving it around until it works.

Surprisingly nice controller. It's durable - I have had it for over a year and it still works well. Usually, off-brand controllers have one or more sticky buttons or the joystick loosens. That is not the case here.

The controller came very fast, only one day after the earliest arrival time estimate. Plus the controller feels just as good as the game cube controllers I have from Nintendo. Plus I love the colour! I would definitely recommend this and buy more of this brand of controller!

Love it. Works great. Only thing is the buttons click when you press them which isn't a big deal unless you're trying to be quiet
