The mount is sturdy and it is nice to be able to attach the top portion to my monitor and leave it. Just need to take off of the mount, no need to do any other steps to mount the monitor. The unit is on the pricey side, but I did buy 2 more.

I use this on a daily with my camera perfect tilt and rotation for my Atomos Ninja 5, may need to tighten after some use but that should be normal with most mounts.

I’ve own 4 of these and the same thing always happens after a few months: the piece connected to the monitor sitting above rotating axis screw becomes loose. So it rattles while filming. Then the other screws on the outside gets loose. I saw that there’s a new design on the non-quick release so I’m going back to that. It looks sturdier. You’ll get your money’s worth with this, but don’t expect it to last for more than 4 months if you shoot everyday.

This quick release holds SO strong! I love it. Clicks in clearly, and you have to use the trigger to click something IN & OUT. So not quite your typical drop in. My one issue is the built Arri safety pins (the two small pins to prevent spinning) a bit too long to be universal. They do the trip, but there is a slight gap in my mount and my monitor that should be closed.

Before this Hawklock system, I've had multiple issues with broken equipment: a 7" monitor that fell off the mount on a tripod, and on another occasion, an HDMI cord snapped off, but luckily held another monitor on, so the monitor didn't break. unfortunately, part of the connector got stuck in my camera. Both situations were due to improperly tightened cold shoes.I work consistently with second and third shooters who are not as familiar with gear, so they sometimes don't properly tighten/install/connect equipment. With this mounting system, I have not had a single issue, because all the connections are effortless and difficult to mess up.

This this is SICK! I know a few people have complained about this being loose, but I would imagine those are faulty units as I have this, and another base so I can swap my monitor back and forth easier, and both are incredibly solid.Definitely going to be outfitting an entire rig with HawkLock very soon.

The device was easy to install.

It's pretty solid construction. Quick release works like a charm.
