Electronic Starter Kit for Raspberry Pi

Its a really nice kit and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to do some basic electronics with their Raspberry Pi.The negatives would be the fact a couple of the programs didn't work because I had a 2 pin button rather than 4 pin. This wasn't something explained in the box and I stumbled across the alternative way of wiring it by looking at the Monk Makes website. Either give everyone a 4 pin button or change the instructions in each box. The other negative would be the lack of any material explaining how it works or even a link to a web page with more information. Following the diagrams and running the programs is fun to do, but without any background it doesn't help with the understanding of electronics.

Great way to start doing your first projects right away. Some people say it's more expensive than buying the pieces separated, and although I can agree, I believe you are paying for them to put things simple to you (and the difference is a pint in a pub).It would be great if it had a bit more technical explanations of each piece and the calculations in each circuit (that's the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars for me)

Doesn't look like much in the box but the projects are all clearly explained on the cards and the software downloads easily. Nice to follow the instructions and get it working then go into the code and hack around with it to change the output. Definitely for total beginners but much better than a book for getting started.

There is not a lot in the kit, but at the price, that is not important. Much more important is that the instructions are clear and the examples work first time. Its purpose is to introduce the complete novice to the input/output possibilities of the Pi, and that it does well. You can try editing the examples and from that start to make sense of the new worlds of Unix and Python bit by bit. Excellent Starter Kit.

I fully agree with all the preceding comments. Great starter kit. Love the simple examples, some issues with Python programming but that's down to me, not the manufacturer.

This may be a great item to use to learn to use a Raspberry Pi, however its very expensive for what it actually is...This should be priced at about £10.00 tops...There are some nice laminated pages to walk you through how to set up the projects and what to do, however as i have stated earlier this is not worth the asking price.

Cheaper than buying all the parts separately. A perfect introduction to getting the Raspberry Pi interacting with the outside world. Note that, although it's aimed at earlier versions of the Pi, it can be used with the newer Pi zero - if you're prepared to solder the GPIO pins ( instructions are available online)

Instructions were good and made sense, some good projects wich i enjoyed especially learning how to use an rgb led. There were 1 or 2 boring ones i didn't use but overall i enjoyed doing the projects. It was difficult to identify the resistors from the instructions but its not impossible and i managed. Installing the project code was easy. A decent raspberry pi kit on the cheap.
