Compact, very bright, but does require a heat sink
I used these as a replacement bulb for a flashlight and for a overhead desk light. These are very bright, but like the listing says, you will need to add a heat sink to these COB lights. Without a heat sink, with a 6 volt input, they get very very hot. Using them with a USB charger/5 volt, they still get hot without a heat sink. With a heat sink, they just get warm, and won't melt plastic. Just make sure to use thermal glue and not something else when adding the heat sink.

One led can light a dark room well enough to read
I used this to make a heat-driven lantern for power outages, etc, using a TEG. Just one put out enough light for reading. There are different temperatures, so choose carefully.(Yes, I know electric ranges don’t work during an outage.)

Working nice for my project...
So I'm not exactly sure what the actual intended use are for these... but they are working well for my project! I am using them to replace the overhead light bulbs in my car. The listing states they are 5V LEDs. The PCB in my car delivers 3V to each light and that is enough power to make these MUCH brighter than the factory lights! I used thermal glue (not thermal paste - thermal glue) to attach Raspberry Pi heatsinks to the back and soldered 22 gauge wire to the contacts. I can't speak to longevity, but they're LEDs so they should last a good long while. If not, they came in a 5 pack and I only needed two. So I should be set for a while! Just a side note. I tested them prior to install with AA alkaline batteries after soldering to verify I didn't anything burn out. One alkaline battery (1.5V) was not enough electricity to generate any light. 3V works well. So make sure the voltage in your application is in the 3-5V area. ;)

Runs hot at 5v from pc usb
As stated runs hot when used with pc usb, 3v runs nice and cool.

Brilliant lights.
Brilliant lights. Used them with a power brick and solar cells to put a power outage light in each o f my rooms. I added an a/c charger connection, and a photoresistor and hand switch at each light to save power. They do well with a small heat sink underneath.
