StrapHabitQuick Release Sailcloth and FKM Rubber Hybrid Watch Strap Band 20mm 22mm Nylon

I've been skeptical about so-called hybrid watch bands--like this band that has a rubber inner side and a sailcloth outer layer. But, as with many things, perseverance is needed. I have been very happy with every watch band I've ordered from StrapHabit, and this is my first venture with hybrid sailcloth/rubber watch bands, but won't be the last. This is NOT a bargain-priced watch band. But it is extremely flexible and comfortable right out of the box, highly water-resistant and appears to be very well made. It really looks and feels like a quality product. The band is also relatively thin, which may contribute to its flexibility. The outer layer, described as sailcloth, looks and feels like a woven fabric, similar to finely woven burlap. I've done a fair bit of sailing, and I can say that most modern sail material is smooth, synthetic sheeting that has little or no "woven" pattern in its surface. Perhaps this is sailcloth from a bygone era. The outer material on this band does absorb water, becomes saturated (in rain, shower,or swimming) but dries much quicker than the woven nylon fabric used to make NATO-style watch bands. The inner rubber band is, of course, impervious to liquids, including perspiration. The stitching in the edges of the "sailcloth" goes all the way thru the rubber to better secure the cloth to the rubber band. I also applaud the use of black rubber sliding keepers on this strap, as I'm sure woven cloth keepers would very quickly fray. I can't comment on the durability of this band because I haven't worn it much, but it really looks and feels like a winner.
