As other have all said. It does its job and it does it really well. Instructions rather straight forward and easy to use. Well packed and with a calibration weight if needed. Mine was perfect out of the box which was nice. But at least it’s there if needed. My old 1970s TT plays a lot nicer now and a bonus a lot lot less pop and crackle from it now the stylus is sitting right.

It works well but was supplied with a flat battery.

This is a brilliant tool for the money. Having just purchased an expensive new deck I found that the user guide process of setting the counterweight to zero and then gradually rotating it together with the scale just wasn't accurate enough. This device provided a simple and far more accurate alternative. It was a piece of cake to set the tracking weight to 2gms in a matter of moments,vv with just a couple of additional turns of the counterweight. This really is an essential piece of equipment for anyone who wants to accurately set up a quality turntable. Highly recommended.

Appears to do the job, checked the stylus force on my turntable and it was near enough spot on. Not something I will be using on a daily basis but it's nice to be able to check periodically to ensure stylus weight is optimised thereby prolonging it's life and getting the best sound out of the turntable.

I just bought a new AT turntable, I needed to set the tonearm to 2g, The reel, is not 100%, so I bought this product to give an accurate measurement. It was easy to set the scales up. You do need to set the scales, this is achieved using the inclosed 5g weght. Once done, I checked my tone arm and it was showing 1.78g. It did make a differnece when setting the anti-skate on the turntable. These scales saved me a lot of hassle.It is well built and I am impressed with the quailty.I do recommend these

I bought another make of stylus gauge for about £6 less than this one. The batteries were missing and it had fingerprints and scuffing on it and looked second hand, so I sent it back and got a refund. Bought this one instead and I'm pleased I did, as it's worth the few pounds extra. Comes in a black tin (1st photo). In the 2nd photo the gauge is at the top, 5g weight is bottom left and CR2032 battery is bottom right sitting vertically. Inserted battery (see later comment) and got a nice clear display (3rd photo - this is in low light). Instruction booklet (4th photo) is clear and easy to read. It has the added advantage that it is the right size to sit in the tin on top of the gauge once you've finished using it. The only slight problems I had with this device are: 1) The lid on the battery compartment was difficult to pull out - I had to insert a scalpel blade to prise it open. 2) I had to tug on the cover of the guage compartment to get it off, but it clicks back on so is very secure. I've taken one star off "Easy to use" as a result, but overall I think it's worth 5 stars.
