I suffered badly from a severely itchy scalp and dandruff like a snowstorm. Believe me, I tried every product on the market, both over-the-counter and prescription and none of them made it better. Some made it worse. I recalled a friend who had psoriasis of the scalp using coal tar shampoo, so I set out to find some and discovered Neutrogena T-Gel. The relief was instantaneous the first time I used it, and I have been using it every day for more than forty years. Sadly, Neutrogena have decided to discontinue it, citing safety issues in the extraction of coal tar (why has this only now become an issue for them?) and difficulties in the supply chain, so stock up from secondary sources while you can. I already have. I believe their decision to be short-sighted and more to do with bottom line than sourcing or safety. I would pay a premium for this product, particularly if it carried international Fair trade organisation accreditation, ensuring the suppliers are protected

I have been using this shampoo for the last 3 or 4 years after visiting the doctors with severe scalp problems, not just dandruff but scabs on the scalp. Started to work really well after a couple of weeks and within a month my scalp had recovered. Still use it to this day, I actually like the smell and as mentioned earlier doesn't linger. I find you don't need much shampoo to get a decent lather.

Not keen on smell but that's just personal however seems to be doing the job as my itching scalp is no more so I will continue to use.

Various dry and flaky patches some red on head.Used nearly every day and each week slowly improved.5 weeks later all cleared up. Great !

I used to use Head and Shoulders until my hairdresser told me that it strips the colour that you dye your hair, so I started using T-Gel, and I have found it just as good for my hair as H&S, yes there is the medical smell, but you can mix it with your regular shampoo to help with that, so very happy with this product!

NO GOOD FOR MY `ITCHY SCALP` BUT OTHERS HAVE OBVIOUSLY FOUND THIS SHAMPOO HELPS THEIR SCALP CONDITION. I WAS SO PLEASED TO HAVE FOUND THIS SHAMPOO ON AMAZON WHEN I READ THE GOOD REVIEWS THAT I BOUGHT 2 x BOTTLES - THEN I NOTICED THAT THE SUPERMARKET THAT I USE ALSO SELLS IT - SO STUPIDLY WITHOUT EVEN WAITING TO FIND OUT IF IT WAS GOING TO EVEN SOOTHE MY ITCHY SCALP I IMMEDIATELY ORDERED 3 x MORE BOTTLES FROM THERE. UNFORTUNATELY DESPITE USING THE SHAMPOO REGULARLY FOR ABOUT 6 WEEKS IF ANYTHING IT HAS BEEN CAUSING THE VERY ITCHY IRRITATION TO BE WORSE A FEW HOURS AFTER WASHING MY HAIR. NOW BECAUSE OF THE STUPID `KNEE JERK DECISION` TO BUY MORE BEFORE SEEING IF IT WOULD SOLVE MY SCALP IRRITATION I HAVE THE 3 x INEFFECTIVE BOTTLES THAT I BOUGHT FROM THE SUPERMARKET THAT ARE OF NO USE TO ME. OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE OF THE GOOD REVIEWS THIS SHAMPOO DOES WORK FOR SOME PURCHASER`S BUT DEFINITELY NOT ME. CHRIS
