This is a GREAT mic stand! I'm using it to support a Shure SM-57 mic positioned directly in front of my Fender amp and another very old (early 50's) Danelectro tube amp. There are enough adjustments on this stand to allow me to position the face of the mic within 1" or so of the exact location on the speaker that I know will give me the sound I want to record. It's also heavy enough that the mic is very secure, which was one of my concerns. It actually feels heavier than it looks and it doesn't wobble around or feel like it might tip over. I'm impressed.If you're looking for an adjustable height, very secure mic stand with extension shaft to use for mic'ing an amp, this one is the best I've ever used. HIGHLY recommended.

This is a pretty basic little mix stand. Great for an SM57 on a guitar cab or for mic'ing a kik drum, however the base isn't very heavy so it can be a small issue with larger mic's such as an RE20. But for the price it is all one could expect and more.

I previously had a tri-pod style stand and it took up too much room next to the kick drum if you're on a small riser or tight space.

Exceptional mic stand. Nothing fancy and more than adequate for micing my bass drum. I would strongly recommend this product. Simple setup!
