Absolutely love this
Absolutely loved the final product! Was quite tricky to do with a 5 month old but was defo worth it!! I done some feet and hand castings for christmas gifts to daughters grandparents and they turned out beautiful. Amazing quality

As expected but struggled to find ideal container
This was a bit fiddly but we managed to do the cast ok. The foot was a little bit lumpy for our tester (got the alginate/water ratio wrong) but the 2nd one was fine. Very important to get the water temperature right, we used a turkey thermometer. Also important to have a timer ready I.e stick baby’s foot into container after 90 seconds so the gel sets within 30 secs. We have a 6 month old and she couldn’t wriggle her way out of the gel when the mixture had set, they say the little movements before setting helps to get a better capture of wrinkles etc and we found that this was the case. Only criticism is that a container should have been provided, we struggled to find a container that was the right size & used a large jar in the end which wasn’t the easiest to clean.

Easy to use casting kit
Fantastic kit to make forever memories of those tiny feet and hands. The instructions are easy to understand, easy to read, well formatted and simple. Our first cast was of our 8 week old babies foot and was successful enough. The issues with the cast were caused by our panic in trying to mix the casting solution in a container that was too small and not mixing it enough which caused a lot of surface bumps on the cast. We also used a container that was not see through so we were unable to see that her little toe was against the edge so there is a small flat surface in the cast as a result. Our second cast of her hand was more successful as we used slightly cooler water than recommended to allow more mixing time (and less stress). It did mean that the solution took longer to set which could be difficult for a wriggly baby. We found that having our baby in a carrier and asleep was the easiest way to get a good mould. I highly recommend Mum or Dad doing the finger test as recommended in the instructions so that they know how it feels as it is setting. We haven't used the silver paint as we quite like the plaster look so cannot comment on the quality or ease of using this aspect of the product.

Very difficult to execute
Concept is great but not s difficult to execute correctly. Firstly I would either do when baby is under 3 months or when old enough to understand to stay still while it sets. Once over 3 months our little one would wake when try to do casts and it didnt go well. I tried many times, some was down to baby moving and cast mould not being great but most were down to air bubbles in the plaster despite following instructions to the letter. Apparently there are people who do these for you, if covid no longer an issue theb i recommend using them instead as has to be easier.Another thing i would add is if you have a cast you dont think looks great, try painting it anyway as they did look better once painted.

Perfect keepsake
I absolutely love getting these hand casts. I got my Sons cast when he was a month old and regretted not getting it earlier, so got my Daughters when she was only a couple of days. So so precious!! Can easily get 4 or 5, possibly more, out of this pack so definitely good value for money. Easy to use is a difficult term to use because, yes, the stuff itself comes with very good instructions but actually using it on a wiggly tiny Human is kinda stressful 🤣 the casts I get are never 'perfect', but they're perfect to me. I always have bubbles or the finger tip missing, but that's because I stress out trying to do it all quickly. But like I like to say 'they don't have to be perfect, they just have to be memorable' and they really are. To keep that cast of a teeny tiny 3day old hand is just so so so worth it 🥰

Not easy!
It isn't really the products fault, I presume if u are an expert, the products will do what it says on the tin. But after 3 attempts to do a foot mould of my baby's foot (3weeks old) after reading the instructions numerous times, measuring everything out in advance, using a thermometer, with the help of a second person, timing everything perfectly. It is basically impossible. None of the attempts were successful. So was a waste of money. You'd be better finding a company to do it for you, if you really want a mould of your baby's hand or foot.

Saved so much money
I had professional ones done of my other children, thought would try my own.. glad I did.. turned out amazing. Would defo recommend a quick test though as other reviews have stated as it sets quick and you don't want to waste the product .so happy with how mine turned out and the colour of the paint is amazing too. Only got 3 cast out of the bag though which was less than stated in the advert but more than I needed.
