Yes it really is. Sure, most USB 'power' cables are usb2, because they only need to deliver power, and don't need the complexity and expense for a 10gbit data cable. A 10gbps cable is primarily a data cable, but sometimes, it can also pass 100W PD. The real question is: do you want an expensive Gen2 data cable just for charging, or do you want just a charging cable? I like the versatility of having one gen2 cable in my travel kit, that can also charge my DellXps computer. Good luck.
