I've been both raising and hatching poultry for my public hatchery for over 30 years. I have both designed and built incubators (mostly walkin). My objective here is to use an easy incubator with excellent hatch rate for employees to use as my retirement grows near. This incubator not only has poor hatch rate it is not greatly built.1. The air vents on the side are right in front of fans pulling the cooler air over the eggs and easily slid by accident either closed or full open.2. The fans are not nearly strong enough to provide proper air exchange.3. The lid is built flimsy hard to snap down & NOT see through, are the eggs turning??? Who can see?4. The water receptacles on each side require filling 4 times a day, POOR design!5. The power cord will not stay in firmly, actually came out a couple times before I realized POOR design!6. The control panel buttons are difficult to press, almost have to shove finger nail into it, yet another poor design!7. NO insulation! And factory stated to use the packing crate.So, in my professional opinion other then the customer service support was virtually NOT there, the incubator is a great FAILURE!!! Only got a 42% hatch when accustomed to being in the 90% hatch rate. And yes these are the same eggs we hatch in other incubators. Good Luck with it...

I don’t understand where to put water! I know it’s an inexpensive item, but at least include proper directions. Even the illustrations aren’t accurate. I hope it works for my conure eggs. Mother doesn’t sit on them enough.

I got this for when I have smalls batches of eggs to do. I have a few specialty breeds that don’t lay frequently so I liked the idea of having a smaller incubator for them. So far I’m 3 days in and not impressed at all and glad I decided to test it with some of my standard layer eggs.The temp hold decently and heats up quickly which was nice. But the humidity is a nightmare. I have the water tray as full as I possibly can (there is a overfill hole that will spill out onto the counter) and I can’t get a humidity over 35%. My eggs seem to to best around 45-50%. I’m not sure if it’s my unit or if this is just how it ‘works’. I love considering throwing another hydrometer in there but there isn’t a good spot without taking up a good chunk of space in it or leaving it open slightly.To say I’m disappointed is an understatement.

I had trouble setting the temperature on this incubator. It works fine but the buttons are not labeled so it was a bit of trial and error to figure out that one display is the set temperature in celsius and the other is actual temp. The directions could be clearer. This is fine for short term use and a well priced option for a single project. We incubated Petri dishes for less than a week and the plastic coating on the buttons is almost worn away already.

It's a really good incubator I do know there are better for the cost but it gets the job done pretty wellIt took longer to get here than I thought it would but I am happy with my purchase

Great for small eggs not so great for medium to large eggs (in our case chicken eggs)... Using this incubator was a balancing act and not enough room to fit eggs. We could barely fit 10 medium chicken eggs and lost 1 due to how crammed they were...it fell sideways while we were trying to place lid on....... Also, 38⁰C is only achievable with the styrofoam on, even though the room they were in is close to room temperature.... Manufacturer recommends using styrofoam if room is 20⁰C or lower, but this wasn't the case for the unit we received.
