The Mouse Of Your Dreams
So I went from a Logitech Trackman Marble Mouse to this beast and I am very happy with what I recieved, as I should be for the rather crazy price. When you get it of course you're very excited, but to boost the excitement even more the case looks like you just bought a rare ruby worth[...]. You'll see the mouse mounted in this plastic "presentation" box. All the manuals are tucked away conveniently inside. So, as far as packaging goes, amazing. Touches like that are what make you feel like you got your money's worth. So you start to unpackage it and it's.....easy. You get a stellar USB cord (gold-plated USB, as advertised, as well as a special cord designed to withstand some kind of torrential storm possibly), a charging dock, and obviously the mouse. Let's cover the mouse first:The design is beautiful. It's got a kick butt design, it's comfortable, and it's got enough buttons. Not too many, if you count your sensitivity adjustment buttons you get 4 programmable buttons...I have yet to program any of them because I simply haven't had the need. I do, however, switch sensitivites on the fly rather often, as it's helpful in games when you go from a sniper (low DPI for super accuracy) to an assault dude (high DPI for quick, accurate movements). All the buttons have a very nice click about them and DON'T feel as if they are going to fail in the next many years. The glowing scroll wheel in the middle is beautiful! I love it, adds another touch. The battery lasts a loooong time on a full charge (days). I tend to place it on charge whenever I'm not using it, so I have yet for it to run out of juice. So the mouse is brilliant...On to the dock. It's cool, it's small, and it's flashy. Not really a whole lot to say about it. The USB cable provided can either plug into the base or the mouse. Here's a downside, however, IF for some random reason you plug the cord into the mouse it adds A LOT of resistence to the mouse, being designed as it is. With this type of mouse, resistence isn't a good thing. The dock also acts as the wireless receiver, so if you're wondering how the mouse communicates wirelessly with your PC, it's the dock.My only complaint would have to be the software it comes with. Don't get me wrong, it's good, powerful software, but it.....is......sllllooooowwww!! Better make sure you make all your changes before clicking "ok" or "apply", because after that sit back and relax.... I believe this is because the dock is sending a file to the mouse (the mouse does have onboard memory, after all) that includes all of the changes and apparently that takes a while.Overall, definitely a 5 star product. It's elegant and works like no other mouse.

Excellent mouse.
In short, I love this mouse. It was expensive, surely, but I think it was worth it and I am happy I made the purchase.I have had the mouse for about a week. I have NOT INSTALLED the Mamba software yet. I just plugged it in, let Windows work its Plug-n-Play magic, and have been clicking away. Initial charge took about two hours.I had major issues with multiple wireless mice that operated on the 2.4Ghz frequency. Logitech mice were the worst, with interruptions and dead cursors every ten seconds at times. Microsoft mice worked much better, but still suffered problems. My environment is very noisy, with a router, two range extenders, multiple cell and cordless phones, wireless video game systems, laptops, etc. The Mamba has not suffered a single error in the few days I have had it. None. It is perfect. Its connection is in a different league from my Logitech and Microsoft mouse. This alone made the purchase worthwhile. The mouse is very comfortable and is easily the best-made mouse I've had the pleasure to touch. It even takes the cake from the Logitech Revolution MX. The Revolution was a bit more comfortable for my large hands, though. It skews to a right-handed person, but it is still comfortable for a left-handed user. The glowing light from the scroll wheel is very, very cool. And the charge stand with its blue glow is equally cool. I am totally geeking out. Some small issues I've had include squirrelly behavior with the high DPI settings. Even with the DPI set lower, the mouse is hyper-sensitive to small movements of wrist, which means that clicks sometimes get translated as click-&-drags. The laser is sensitive enough to register significant movement if you simply blow on the mouse. This is a positive for gaming, but in general use it is a small but noticeably problem. I have become accustomed to it and it is not as bothersome as it once was. Now that I have dialed in the DPI and Windows settings I want, the movement is very smooth. It's sensitive, accurate, and fast. An excellent mouse in this regard.I wish the mouse had a dedicated middle mouse button for opening tabs in a browser and games that can use it. As it stands, the scroll wheel has good resistance from notch to notch, and I rarely miss a middle press, but it's much easier to simply hit a middle button. The DPI settings are indicated by three LEDs on the side of the mouse that I have yet to decipher. I very much prefer Microsoft's display giving me a real, readable number. If you're a hardcore gamer, you might miss the ability to add your own weights to the body. The mouse was pretty nicely weighted for my tastes. It's got a good amount of heft to it.The battery life is pretty miserable, but that's completely, totally, unequivocally understandable. This is one high-powered mouse. I think it can muscle through any and all interference. Having to put it on the charger once a night is a trade-off I can easily accept. In an attempt to extend battery life, the mouse goes into two stages of sleep very quickly. The first one simply turns off the LED and awaits significant input. There is almost no lag from this mode to fully active. The second one is from full sleep, where there is significant lag of 3-4 seconds before the mouse turns on, connects, and becomes usable. A minor annoyance. In closing, I'm in love. I recommend this mouse to any gamers and to anyone who can bring themselves to rationalize a $130 mouse. For me, it was worth it.UPDATE:I've been using the mouse for over a month, now, and I have encountered one interference error. Yep. Just one. I'm very happy with that. The squirrelly nature of the sensor is still apparent and I must admit an affinity for other, less sensitive mice. I have gotten used to it, though.I am also encountering a strange problem where the cursor will move up slightly with small movements. If I move the mouse in a very tight circle on my pad the cursor will follow the movement but also move upwards. The newest firmware has yet to solve this problem.UPDATE:My problem with the cursor always moving up appears to be caused by the "Enhance Pointer Precision" feature of Windows' mouse interface. Since turning that off, the problem has disappeared.UPDATE:About four months in, my mouse developed a loud squeak/chirp in the scroll wheel. It's not material to the functioning of the mouse, but still very annoying. It's loud enough where people in nearby rooms have come in asking if there is a cricket in the house. This is apparently a somewhat widespread issue with the mouse and Razer is handling it well for me. They are RMA-ing my mouse and sending me a replacement. I'm very pleased.UPDATE:After a second replacement mouse, my third mouse arrived and works just fine. No issues. Perfect. BUT, a new desk has revealed an issue with such a sensitive mouse. I have some large speakers that now, they previously didn't, sit on my desk. Loud music causes the mouse to have a conniption. Heavy bass makes the mouse unusable. I'm moving speakers to compensate. This isn't a knock against the mouse, just an alert.
