This turntable is worth twice it's price
The Turn Orbit Special is a great mid level audiophile turntable. There are better ones on the market but they cost $1000+. You can't go wrong. The sound from my vinyl comes through in awesome clarity. Crisp highs, solid unmuffled bass. The unit is solidly build and looks great.I have had one issue and that was a hum at 60Hz that was coming through my system when I used the turntable. It's been over a year and I had no intention of returning the unit. I sent customer service an email describing the problem and simply asking them for advice on what to do. The response came in less than 24 hours. They could have easily said "Buy a better quality RCA cable and ground the chassis better." No, They replied with "We are sending you a better quality cable and a ground conversion device." They immediately sent it for free and I had it in less that a week and it solved my problem.I highly recommend this turntable for it's beautiful styling, great performance and the company's awesome customer service.UPDATE: I'm sitting here listening to my turntable on a Sunday morning while drinking my coffee and for some reason I feel compelled to express again how awesome this turntable is. I have the Ortofon Red cartridge installed that came with the unit. I'm feeding the turntable into a vintage Marantz receiver and out through some new (2020) audiophile quality speakers that are rather unforgiving of less than excellent gear. If there's a problem in the system, it shows up. This turntable performs flawlessly all the time.

Simple Setup, Stunning Aesthetics,
It was a tough choice between this and the Fluance RT85. I'll list the notable differences below for anyone else who is contemplating which to get.RT85 Pros:- Blue cartridge standard- Auto lift after record endsRT85 Cons:- Thick, ultra glossy, fake wood plith. This is subjective, but it just looks tacky to me.- Assembled overseasOrbit Special Pros:- Solid Walnut plith. It looks and feels awesome.- Assembled in the US, by a US company.Orbit Special Cons:- Red cartridge standard (can be configured on their website to use the blue, or upgraded later)- No auto lift when record is finished. For me, the solid walnut plith, great aesthetics, and supporting a US company all outweighed the fact that the record player does not have an auto lift function. In fact, a big part of the reason I purchased a turntable is for the elegant simplicity. When I considered this, I realized that functionality is not something I need, or even really want.I am really happy with my decision. Everything came packaged really well, and setup was a breeze. I would recommend this turntable to anyone with a budget of $500.

Very nice.
This turntable was replacing an old Gemini DJ turntable that I’ve had for a long time. So this is my first foray into audiophile turntables. My old table also had the ortofon red cartridge so in that aspect, the tables are comprible. I really enjoy all aspects of this item. I think the aesthetics of it are very well done. Not a lot to really go wrong but all of the essential functions are there. The sound reproduction is very transparent, clear, and present. I was able to flatten my EQ to get an nice balanced sound with the aspects of the music I wanted being exactly where they needed to be. After one day of operation, I love this turntable. I’d youre looking for a nice entry level audiophile table, look no further. You could probably opt for one with a composit plinth for a little less money and get the same components (remember to add the tracking arm). I like the natural walnut finish though.

Poorly designed turntable
Initially I was incredibly excited about this product. The reviews I had read all pointed towards an overall efficient product. I received it and immediately connected it to my vinyl player setup. It worked perfectly for a few days but then whenever I went to play one of my records the problem arose. The "belt" that drove the acrylic plate to play the records had become stretched over time and would not fit snuggly around the turntable. I tried everything to attempt to create a suitable belt for it even going as far as to looping the cheap rubber band around itself to make tighter. I returned this products simply because for the price, that type of critical error on a conceptual level is blantantly unacceptable. All this would have been forgiven if the vinyl was driven by anything other than a purey aethetic choice rather than a productive one. For the money this player is worth, I am beyond disappointed with my experience.

A well made basic turntable
This Is a nice TT for the price. It isn’t very heavy but it is well made. It’s very easy to set up right out of the well packaged box. The ortofon red cartridge is a plus. The sound is good and the solid wood base is quality. The only negatives are it has a round drive belt instead of a flat one causing me to bump it often. Probably a user problem. Also, if you place decent speakers too close to it, the TT will pick up significant speaker feedback hum. Once the speakers are far enough from the TT there is no issue.Be forewarned that this is a total manual TT so you need to be around when the album side ends or it will keep running.I also own a Fluance rt85 TT with an ortophon blue cartridge and for another $50 you get a bigger bang for the buck. Both TTs are decent middle of the road machines. I am happy with both!

Beautiful turntable
Perfect turntable than combines aesthetic and sound quality. Very easy to set up, almost ready outside the box. Just be sure to add a pre-amp if you are buying the version without the built-in.

Brings back my old memories
This turn table is wonderful. It is well made of find solid wood. It is best value for the money. I highly recommend anyone to get it. I bought one without the phono preamplifier. I own a preamp with the phono input. I am glad that I kept all of vinyl records. It just bring back my old memories with each record purchased when I was a young man. Money well spent.
