With this unit I was able to add Android Auto /Apple Car play to my 2008 Mustang. I switched from an Android phone to a Apple phone and both worked seamlessly.

This stereo works great. The UI is responsive. Android Auto works great. It only has one little "nanny state nag screen" when you put it in reverse telling you to "observe your surroundings". That's a little annoying and can't be disabled, but it's relatively small and can be dismissed with a tap. You can just ground that little wire that turns off half the settings when you're not in park and then your passenger can do whatever they'd like with the radio even if you're going down the road. I like that it'll let you view your camera while driving if, for instance, you want to keep a quick glance at your trailer handy. Well worth the money.

Make your older vehicle just as good as a new one. Ya you have to plug your phone in but I can text, call, use Spotify, google maps, Apple Maps, and whatever else. I drive a 2008 Tahoe that I own and if you do your research you can get the module that allows you to use your steering wheel controls. It’s a great interface that gives you up to date tech .

I bought 2 of these in the last 2 weeks both of which do not work the one randomly shuts off while the other won’t work at all with the i data link completely useless equipment do not buy .

I've been running this unit in my car for a couple months now, and am generally happy with it, however, the Bluetooth seems to periodically lose the ability to connect to my phone for audio playback. I have to forget the phone and add it in again for it to play my Spotify. Luckily the system is easy to use and adding the phone back in is a quick task, but I shouldn't have to.

If you ever thought about buying a chinese knockoff head unit, for a similar price you can get a legit one, jvc is really reputable and after almost a year of usage i’m still in love with it. the touch screen works great, no delay whatsoever, really smooth, for the price i didn’t think it would be this good but it’s better than a lot of stock car head units, i don’t even have an amplifier and this head unit power can handle my tweeters and mid bass perfectly. 10/10

Did extensive research to make sure I landed on a unit that had CarPlay but that wasn’t total crap and wasn’t slow on animations and stuff. This unit works as well as new cars that have CarPlay integrated, it’s really nice and zero lag! Before this I had a single din unit (also JVC) on my 2012 Corolla, and this new unit actually upgraded the sound too! Integrated mic seems to work really well as people on the other end of the call say I sound very clear. I do miss a volume knob, but the volume arrows are very responsive and work well. We ran out of time but will be installing a camera in the next week or so, but overall this is an excellent Apple CarPlay unit and can totally recommend it to anyone looking for one. Just keep in mind apple car play will only work through USB and it is not wireless here.Update 1/25/2024: Been using this since June of 2023 and it has been great. Personally I don’t care about it not having wireless Airplay, works perfectly fine with type c cable on my iPhone 15 Pro. Wanted to add that the quality of the screen is really good compared to so many cars with airplay from previous years. Colors are just more vibrant and it looks good, and screen is very very responsive. Can’t recommend this enough! My 2012 Corolla feels like a 2024 car!
