The value of any product is measured by performance vs. price. I've owned a dozen different sharpeners over the years and they all work to some degree including rudimentary wet stones and leather strops. The Lansky system at a fraction of the cost actually does a fairly decent job of getting knives very sharp. With all that said, none compare to the consistent and repeatable results you can achieve with this system. With a short learning curve, and a little patience this sharpener brings a razor edge to almost any blade within certain size limitations. Very short or very longs blades or tools are the real exceptions. Now the price tag is high without question so it comes down to how much are professional repeatable results worth or can you make do just fine with a less expensive system. For me I do a lot of sharpening for myself and friends so the answer is yes. If I was looking to sharpen a single knife or two, I could not frankly justify the expense. Even with this great technology however I still use my old leather strop with abrasives to polish the edge. Overall that strop probably represents the best real value in sharpening.

Wicked edge is awesome. Takes a couple minutes to get your angles set right before you start sharpening. Once you start, within 15 to 20 minutes your done. My first try at it was an old SOG that was extremely dull. I started with the most corse stones and worked my way down to the ceramic and then the leather strops. I was shocked at the results. I knew it would be sharp, but this is scary sharp. I had no idea I could manually put an edge on an old damaged blade like this. It was at least 4 times sharper than how it came from the factory new. I did the paper test and it glides through like butter. I shaved a small smooth spot on my arm with one light stroke. I then tried a tomato and just the weight of the blade resting on it, with a very slight backward pull, it bit in and started falling halfway through the tomato.This is an expensive set, but like they say, you get what you pay for. This sharpener is very well made and the stones are superb quality. If you decide to go for it, you will not be disappointed.As far as the seller and shipping go, excellent on both. No complaints.

Had some mechanical issues with my device and reached out to customer support without a response. I managed to use some of my own tools and equipment to reconnect one of the guide bars on the mount. I saved a lot of money to get this and feel a little ripped off…

Before I wanted to purchased the Wicked Edge Pro II I did a ton of research. Admittedly, there are some great knife sharpening systems out there and some not so great. I have been sharpening knives on water stones for awhile but I wanted something that was accurate and with duplicatable results each and every time. I only found 2 that I would use.Out of the two, Wicked edge is the BEST of the BEST, hands down for non-powered sharpening systems.As with everything, there is a learning curve and you have to be careful about the exposed knife blade The thing that made me really want to write this review is the owner. I had a couple of questions and he personally took the time to answer them...that's pretty much unheard of these days.The delivery was fast, Amazon was great, the system is a great system, and the support is unbeatable!

Our sharpener was defective. The arms didn’t line up and we could not get them to work properly no matter what we did. We got authorization to return the item and they took $279 out of my refund for restocking!!!! WHAT???! Almost $300 was lost because the product was defective. I am so disappointed. I was intending to buy another model but I will not. Amazon and this seller have failed us.

This thing is amazing! I can freehand a good edge but this system creates a flawless mirrored finish in no time at all, for a test and to break in the diamond hones I tested it with my utility pocket knife. The edge was dull and rolled with a few nicks in the blade, I started with the coarsest grit hone and worked the edge back into shape until I was producing a burr the length of the blade, working my way up through finer grits and finishing with the lapping compound and leather strop I had a keen mirror finish in less than 15 minutes.If you do a lot of sharpening, this is a great time saver with repeatable results every time. I'll be spending the afternoon sharpening knife in the house!

Everything about this product is QUALITY!Ii is the 4th sharpener I have purchased in my quest to find a quality product that is easy to use.This is expensive, but it is built to last.Once you get your rhythm down, it will take about 15 minutes to sharpen each knife to RAZOR sharpness. And, that is not an exaggeration. I can lay the blade on my arm and gently shave all the hair off. No kidding at all.If you are looking for an idiotproof sharpener that is absolute quality, look no further.
