A good read
The text should be sentence case.. after a while it distracts... Reading it with kids...a great way to tell them the stories

Excellent work by both the authors. Excellent way to write about History
This is a book which comes once in a lifetime. I was amazed, and also gained knowledge. I have never experienced the true history of Indus civilization and this book cuts through a lot of bs and gives us a picture of the time which is both honest and comprehensive. The tons of nonsense l have read/heard of Indus valley is all gone now I feel I have a clear picture of what may have happened and how things may have been. It is not a full picture we get but a honest one. Which is based on facts not fancy. I was immediately longing for more such books. Being a dyslexic reading does not come easy to me so recently I discovered Yuval Harari's two books and this one which makes me so happy as serious topics are being presented in a accessable way.

Fantastic dive into the history of the people of the subcontinent
A very well-thought-out, engaging book on the history of one of the most enigmatic civilizations to have existed. The flow was brilliant, with each question raised in the mind of the reader being answered in the subsequent pages. The pauses, with the stories that begin each chapter in the form of illustrations with no text create suspense and keep the reader gripped. The personal insights and speculations/hypotheses add a lot of value and reiterate the almost forensic analysis that archaeologists undertake -- the presence of small fragments unearthing disproportionately large insights. I think the authors were also very prudent and scientific in the conclusions that they draw about the implications of these sites for contemporary political discourse -- a real delight to read.Would highly recommend it for children and especially for adults!

Easy to read and comprehend!
The author has provided a good and balanced insight into Indus civilization thereby answering lots of questions too. The graphical representation of research work and facts make it easy to understand and visualize that period to a certain degree. I hope someday our researchers, archeologists and linguist experts are able to solve the puzzle of Indo-Aryans and Sanskrit too. Hope to meet the author someday and discuss this book more :)
