I had to empty and clean a crawlspace that was full of 50 years worth of old stuff, and had had multiple plumbing leaks over the years so while there was no mold in the structure the stuff removed was moldy and the crawlspace wreaked. I hung one of these in there after it was clean and it completely eliminated the odor. I also used 2 of them in a large room where a smoker lived and smoked for 30 years (after cleaning and painting with odor killing primer and 3 coats of paint you could still smell the odor).. after about a week thee was zero odor. I love these because they are natural, have no smell at all, they are reusable (after using for a few months you put them outside in the sun for a day and they are ready to use again). Best odor eliminating product hands down. Eliminates the odor, does not “cover it up”.

Other reviews talk about cat litter boxes and various organic odors, but I bought the Gonzo Odor Eliminator for a different reason. Our house is heavily insulated with polyurethane spray foam. Some of the upstairs storage closets are under the slanted roof eaves and do not have drywall covering the spray foam insulation. The exposed foam emits an odor that permeates the storage closets and seeps past the door frames into the adjacent rooms. It's not the fishy odor of some types of spray foam, but rather a hard-to-describe chemical smell similar to the off-gassing of new carpet. I bought four of these basement/garage Gonzo Odor Eliminators, and I put them into the exposed-foam closets, along with various combinations of charcoal odor absorbers and scented air fresheners. I can't say the chemical odor is gone; it isn't. But it's milder. Enough milder that I'm no longer reluctant to house guests in the adjacent rooms. Also the Gonzo Odor Eliminator remains effective a lot longer than charcoal or air fresheners, and it's renewable on a sunny day. I consider it the best product of this type on the market.

These work like magic! I first bought them for my (now) husband’s place when he had three dogs. They absorbed the dog smells and believe me it was a strong odor! It takes a small amount of time to do so but it will work.Now married we bought a place and the basement is stone and had that basement smell. Once again I ordered Gonzo bags and put them in the basement and the garage too. Basement smell gone! I just placed another order so I can switch them out to different areas.Recharge them by placing in the sun.. they are awesome!

I had a very wet fall and garage was smelling musty, or so my son complained. I ordered the Gonzo. Easy to install, however, my hubster reinforced it a bit. The ring in the netting didn’t seem like it would stand up to hanging for a long period of time. I think it is helping. It doesn’t emit any odor and appears to be lava rocks that absorb odors, apparently. We have continued to have a wet fall and the mustiness is less (son hasn’t been back to evaluate). I am going to order one for the basement also.

I waited a while to post this review as many others stated it took a while to work. Its been 3 months since I put one of these in my garage and my intention was to have it eliminate residual grease, oil, gas, and chemical smells created by my various car projects. While the product did help a little bit I found it to be not effective enough to justify the cost. It would have been helpful (and cheaper) if they sold this version of the kit in a single quantity pack.I think if you are the type of individual that changes oil in your garage once every couple of months then this WOULD be effective for you. If you are more active than that, then keep looking.

My Moms basement had a musty damp odor that her dehumidifer would not take out so I hung one of these on one side & the other on the other side & just the next day the odor was almost gone but then 3 days later it was all gone..

My house is a brick house built in 1909 - so the basement gets moist and after rain can have that damp smell for a day or two. Running a dehumidifier helps, but I needed something else. I have cats and their litter box is down there, even with regularly cleaning that smell got stuck in the basement air and would sometimes find its way up to the first floor. The rocks worked almost immediately - I have two bags hanging just because of the age of the house and wanting to maintain a "fresh" smell.

Nothing has happened - musty cold room smell still there; waste of money. Confused over same product for basement and homes - one is 4-5 times more expensive than the other yet they are the same product - possibly maybe the rock sizes are different

Quick and effective. Love that it absorbs door not just covers it with scent.
