It’s MUCH easier to use and better than an AM radio! It works well and is easy to use. Instructions are pretty good too. Pity about the price😢 But it’s probably fair value for what it is.

Bought to find a break in my robot mower boundary wire. Wasn't very hopeful at first as this is a cheaper option compared to other types. But have to say worked really well. Found the break in less than 10 minutes and this was for a buried cable not surface mounted one. Only thing would recommend is that you tape the dangling receiver to a pipe or handle as this made it easier and was more like a metal detector. Apart from that worked really well.

I hardly ever leave a review and I was a bit sceptical of the device. I have a buried lawnmower cable about 10cm deep and 100m in length. Previously I had to pull up each junction, break it and test it to see if that part made a circuit. It was a pain, time consuming and required quite a few rejoins.I tried this device, I earthed the black cable as it seemed it was required (big metal ruler shoved in the ground). Then I tested it and it was quite sensitive, picking up the buried cable from a foot away. I thought it may be too sensitive and picking up everything. However I slowly walked around the perimiter and within 2 mins I heard a huge change in volume. I walked on and silence. 30 secs later I had found the cut cable. Waterproof connected the broken cable and the circuit was intact.All in 5 min task. Love it and sensitive enough even if the cable buried quite deep.

Worked a charm for my Worx lawn mower robots perimeter with. I found broken wire in 5 minutes, 3 of which were for unpacking and setting it all up. It's not built very sturdily, be careful not to lose the batteries compartment screws, they don't stay on the compartment door. The instructions are atrocious, some have already commented on that. But apart from that, it is very easy.1 Make sure base is off, unplug electricity to it2 Unplug both ends of perimeter wire from base3 Attach red clip of transmitter to one end of perimeter wire, ram a screwdriver in the ground and attach the black clip to it (earthing the transmitter that way).4 Switch on transmitter and press the "search" button, switch on receiver. Both transmitter and receiver have volume buttons: transmitter "volume" is with how much power the signal is sent, receiver volume is about the loudspeaker volume (I didn't use the headphones).5 Hold or dangle the torpedo shaped antenna along your wire path, near the wire you hear the siren. Where the nee-nah siren sound stops, that's where the break is. Simple.

Bought to find a break in guide wire for Flymo robotic lawn mower.Has an extremely strong signal even for wire that is an inch of so beneath soil and grass.Very easy to find brea, tried others that where super fiddly and this was a breeze

Used it to find a partial break in a robot mower boundary wire. Attached to one end of the boundary wire at the base station and walked the perimeter until the signal got weaker. Was able to pinpoint the partial break within a few mins. Would never have found it otherwise
