Show the neighbors how it’s done
Right now, if it holds up, it is awesome. My grass isn’t even all up yet. May 9th here. I only have about 7500 square feet. I do the whole yard perimeter first and then go with the roller. Very easy on and off. For the sand I used pool filter sand. Nice and dry and the roller was filled in about 5 minutes. Worth the extra money to me. I always change the pattern when I mow. Don’t be discouraged if at first mow you don’t get the results you wanted. It’s all about reflecting the sunlight. Try different patterns. Lot of people in my cal de sack have professionals do their lawns. I’m going to show them them how it’s really done. Almost forgot. It turns quite easily. Just take your time.

Definitely overpriced, but it’s a fun piece of equipment
Easy install other than filling the roller with sand which was painfully tedious. Thankfully you only have to do that for initial setup. Other than that it’s a fun thing to have. Way more expensive than it should be but you pay for the convenience of not having to DIY one on your own. I don’t use it every time because navigating is slightly more difficult since it makes the mower heavier, but when I do it does a really nice job on my KBG / TTTF lawn.

Filling it with sand sorta annoying but besides that pretty solid unit
First time out this thing def smacks hard ! It makes it a little harder to move your mower around but worth it imo.

if you cant afford a roller mower this is your thing
loved this great easy to install product. I did notice the loophole that worried me would brake as I've seen in other videos of other products because they're made of plastic, toro did great in implementing a metal loophole which made me feel better. the part that is extremely time consuming is having to add sand into the small hole it has the size of a quarter or smaller. it took me a good 30 min to fill up to an hr. I filled it halfway and put it to the test did some visible lines, but you need to fill it all the way I've learned. As a final thought, yes i do recommend this product and i am very happy with it.

Cheap plastic
Worked decently for a little over a year. Then the plastic hole that attatches the rolling bar to the mower bars completely broke. So it only worked for one season.Wasn't covered under warranty and the replacement part is10$ less than a brand new one.Goodbye Toro... Won't probably buy anything from them anymore.

It works as advertised!
If you love taking care of your lawn, this roller is a must! Take your lawn to the next level. I got this unit because I wanted the "wow factor" and this does it. I attached it to my Honda HRX 217 mower. A couple things to note: 1) When you attach the clam shell clamps to your mower, you may find it difficult to get them low enough on the handle bars. The directions advise that the hitch tube be between 3 1/2"-4 1/2" from the ground. I found that the handle bars attached to the mower flattened out higher than I would have liked. Therefore, the clamps can't get much lower than 6-7 inches from the bottom so my lower hitch tube is at the high limit. 2) Filling the roller was no problem and took less than five minutes. Don't use "play sand" but some All Purpose Masonary Sand. It's dry and flows easily through a long neck funnel. Just pour it in one glass at a time. Easy Peasey. 3) My Honda mower handle bars appear to be larger than other mowers because the clam shell clamps were difficult to get tight. They don't completely close when you tighten all the screws so I imagine this is made for a Toro with a thinner gauge handle tube. I used epoxy glue on the screws and used a little longer screw than what was in the kit so the clamps would hold. 4) This does not interfere with my grass bag so you can easily bag your grass with it. I don't mulch, but if you do, it won't be an issue.

Works decently on thick grass, but for the price, I think it could be better.
Works decently on thick grass, but for the price, I think it could be better.Pros:Works well on thick grass. You can cut different patterns.Attaches to most push mowers.Does not have to be used at all times on the mower. It can be removed and only used as needed.Cons:Expensive for what it is.Was not that easy to put together.Does not work well on all grass types, including thinner grass.Stripes are usually visible for just a couple days.I found you must go over each stripe two times, to get the bending of the grass, so you are basically mowing your lawn two times.Very hard to push if you do not have a self propelled mower.Hard to take on and off. I must flip my mower up to take it off or install it. The process takes about 5 minutes and is not easy. It could be just my particular mower though. Most of it is made of plastic and I feel it will not hold up for a long period of time.Final Thoughts:I had made a DIY one of these and was using it for a the past few years. It cost me just a couple dollars to make and it worked almost identical to this product. My DIY one was not that easy to install or remove, so I ordered this figuring it would do a better job and would be easier to use. Well this product does work slightly better than my DIY one, but I still need to go over each section two times and it is not easy to install or remove it as needed. This product does work nicely on thick grass, creating stripes that are visible for a couple days, but keep in mind, it does not work well on all grass including thinner grass. Also, the instruction manual is correct about finding the right angle to mow your yard, if you want it visible from the street. From the get go, you must mow your yard several times in order to determine what angle or striping pattern will work best for your yard.If you are looking at purchasing this thinking it will make your lawn look just like a professional golf course and will be easy to install and use, then I would not recommend it. However, if you can afford it, will be using it on thick grass only, and are simply trying to make your yard look nicer than the neighbors, then I would recommend it.
