Q: This is a fake, right? You can't buy a TB drive for under $40.

It is fake. It presents itself as a 1 TB storage medium on the USB bus, but actually only contains 64 GB of flash memory. Any data blocks you write above the lower 64 GB get thrown away and read back a all 0s. Beyond that, even for the 64 GB that are present the read and write speeds are a far cry from advertised speed. (I know, because I fell for it, and then ran a flash tester on it - f3 tools - Fight Flash Fraud).

Q: The previous answer to my question is mostly incoherent. fake tb drives are able to spoof a tb capacity. is this fake?

It is a fake drive, that presents itself as a 1 TB storage medium on the USB bus, but actually only has 64 GB of flash memory inside. Any data block you write to it beyond the lower 64 GB will get thrown away and if you read them back you'll get all 0s back. Is that fake enough?

Q: Compatible with tab s7?

This flash drive carries a usb-c port and can work on the Galaxy Tab S7.

Check whether the Samsung Galaxy S21 has the OTG function. If not, open it. After you open it, you can't see the USB icon after inserting the USB drive. Then you can try to enter it from the "File" icon on the phone desktop to see if there is an external storage disk. If there is no external storage disk, test the USB-c port with other devices. If the USB-C port can be normally used in other devices, please contact the customer service personnel of Samsung phone to solve the problem.
