Simple, basic, inexpensive and does the job perfectly. No more splatters sullying the inside of my microwave. The plastic grip does not get hot to the touch. Clean up is minimal and effortless. Very pleasantly suprised by this splatter cover.

It’s small (8” in diameter) but it does the job of keeping my microwave interior clean.

This microwave cover is small but has worked perfectly for me. It covers a bowl or plate.

I bought this cover in order to prevent endless internal microwave messes caused by uncovered food. I had been using wax paper, but that has its own issues & annoyances. After seeing this kind of device at several peoples houses I decided to purchase my own & it has been excellent with just a few complaints.I don't like the design having the single hole in the middle of the cover for 2 reasons:1. Since all the steam from your now-hot food has to escape from underneath the cover, this hole provides the only outlet. As a result, it gets very hot right around this hole. This can be a problem if you want to take the cover off one-handed as you have to grab the cover by hooking a finger into this hole (unless you can figure out another way to grab it). You can remove the cover by grabbing the sides, but the one-handed convenience would have been nice.2. The single hole will almost always be directly above whatever food you're cooking, so some food can still possible get on the interior of the microwave if a particularly violent "explosion" happens. It is far less than if you didn't have the cover at all, but not a 100% effective solution.Looking at other designs, I think the Progressive International Microwavable Food Cover handles both of the previous complaints much better. I can say that the material of the Nordic Ware seems very sturdy & doesn't look like it will break down after repeated usage. The Progressive International looks a little less sturdy from the product picture but I can't say for certain as I haven't actually seen or used that product. From a design standpoint though the Progressive International looks to be better.Overall, this does a great job of preventing messes inside the microwave. The few complaints aren't enough to make me give up using it.

Tried a few brands of these over the years and they were not great. These on the other hand are perfect. Sturdy, easy to clean, dry fast. Everything I wanted in a microwave food cover.

My first thought was it seems thin and fragile, easily breakable. However; so far so good. We use this product daily. No mess no nothing. It's simple fits the plates well seems to be just the right size, easily washable and it gets used constantly. More importantly, the wife loves it, no more microwave explosions to clean! I think it was the chili incident that prompted me to buy this item and yes it was I that did it. I now have my microwave privileges restored as long as I use this cover. We have yet to accidentally drop it to see how it stands up to that. Other than that, I can't find a single reason not to own one of these if you own a microwave you will love this product!UPDATE: Nordic Ware says its BPA free! enough with the BPA warnings they do not apply to this product. We have used this for 7 months now without issue! Seems like the vast majority of the reviews agree this is a great product. Sure there will always be a few people who encounter some sort of issue. I stand behind my recommendation at least until I run into any issue. I doubt I will but rest assured I will tell you about it. I will buy another if I ever need to. My favorite complaint was "it wont vent if you stack a dish on top of it". Hmmm, ya think? Of course it wont vent your covering the vent hole. Lets try and remember our reviews need to be fair or they are not helpful! Let's not blame the product for our stupidity. It's 11" people. It states that clearly. Those of you who are complaining, "it's not large enough for your plates". OK never mind I give up. You can't please everyone. However; like I said nearly all of us who reviewed this product love it! I'm not trying to put people down, I'm just trying to remind everyone reviews only work if they are fair and honest! If you have issues, fine tell us. Just make sure it's the products fault and not your own stupidity. Amend your review that are unfair to the company. Lets do our best to keep this review forum helpful and not allow it to become a useless sounding board like most of the others have been reduced too.Update: 3 years and it is still like new! This is worth a 5 star rating what was I thinking giving it 4 stars? I changed it to 5!update nearly 5 years old! This things awesome!update 7 years and still perfect. So convenient! I hated the old cover because it was always in the way. This one solves the problem, and is a pleasure to use!
