Light, sturdy, easy to assemble, and it looks nice in my bachelor's home. I liked it so much, I just bought another one for my dining room to add some flavor and storage for occasional-use appliances that don't fit in my cabinets.The designer of this line of shelving deserves kudos for elegantly engineering them. Assembly was if not cake, then at least a cake-like substance and the finished appearance is classy enough to not draw girlfriend-aggro. I'll almost certainly end up buying another couple of pieces for the house.

This is a gorgeous piece and I've gotten many compliments on it. Fairly apparent that the shelves aren't real wood, especially because the bottoms are black, but it still gives a rustic/industrial feel. And the best part is it is big and wide enough to hold all of my books without looking cluttered or over crowded - still room for decorative touches. It was very straightforward to assemble, but when the instructions tell you not to tighten the screws all the way until the very end, listen to them. The back "X" piece gave me the hardest time, but just wait until the very end to tighten those screws especially.

This bookshelf is great for anyone moving into a new space (or re-doing an old space) because it is easy to assemble and pretty light in box. The materials feel very good quality and during assemble it was clear how well made the pieces are (for example: everything fits together perfectly, note the directions for assembly). Beware: it will elevate your space and give you "Restoration Hardware Vibes" and you may end up wanting to purchase a bunch more beautiful, high quality and more expensive pieces like it. This bookshelf looks great with pieces on display as well for storage and easy access to stuff. It also looks good with similar but different wood tones and other earthy/natural colors and textures.

Very sturdy shelf that looks expensive. The shelves aren’t wood but the texture and look on top makes them seem very realistic. Some of the shelves were hard to screw in but I had no real problems. It’s arguably easier to assemble (and better looking) than IKEA furniture.

Good looking, solidly built and a good value. Took about 45 minutes to assemble. You could cut that time in half if you had Allen wrench bits for your power drill as the Allen wrench provided makes tightening all the screws a bit cumbersome.

Update: Excellent Customer ServiceI ended up returning the item however I should mention that their customer service is super great. As soon as I returned the item I received kind and supportive emails of how they can fix the problem. I was in a rush for finishing up my project and had to return the item to purchase a new one. I gave them 4 start in general ( I would rank 5/5 for customer service though ) and my only problem with the shelf itself was that the material which did not seem to be good enough to me. No doubt that the MDF boards could hold heavy loads but I just personally did not like the texture and the feel of the boards. Still the style and their design is beautiful.Previous review :Unfortunately against all other good reviews I should put a negative one. I started a small project of making a rustic style book shelf and found this cool looking piece. Was so excited to receive and assemble it however the metal base was missing a hole for screw which is a big defect and the shelves were so cheaply made and light weighted, the corners felt like paper .... I knew it is not made of wood but at least I thought it is a well structured piece of MDF and not like a paper like cover on corners. I was so surprised how many other people found it very good and sturdy as I found it cheaply made product. It was so hard to put everything back to its package for return but I had to since there was no way to keep it with all these disappointments. I ended up ordering a better looking one which was made from wood from elsewhere.

The item I received was not what was depicted in the item description: For one, it isn’t as tall: it only measures at 63”, not 70. For two, the engineered wood boards look cheap and more like some kind of fake wood film than “real” wood. (I know it’s not supposed to be real wood, but this looks more like plastic.)Of course, return shipping would be on me, and it’s quite prohibitive. So I guess I’ll just have a $220 storage shelf in the basement now because it looks too cheap and tacky to be in my study as intended.Extremely disappointing.

These are beautiful. The price is excellent. Came no damage. Easy to put together. Not to heavy because they aren’t solid wood. They look real & ive had so many people already ask me where I got them after just a day. Very happy. Will consider O & K again for furniture. I got the walnut color, my floor is already a grey wood & I didn’t want to blend too much.
