do they make one big enough for peaches and avocados?
mom wanted a cherry pie made from fresh cherries, and after obliterating a bag trying to deseed them i found this handy little item. says it works for olives too, but you’ll never see one touch my lips so i can’t vouch for that, but for cherries, it works great. got a whole bag pitted in a matter of minutes, much faster (and safer) than my knife fiasco. did not have any issue with the clear piece falling off like others had mentioned, seems like a great value for the money to me.

Great for pitting small amounts of cherries
Sometimes you only need to pit a few cherries, and this works great for that. Much easier than pulling out my large-volume cherry-pitter.

well made
I bought to made blue cheese stuffed olives. Does not work well for that purpose with green olives with pits in them. I'm not sure any tool would. But it is well made. Didn't break on my trying to 'un-pitt' green olives. I don't think there is a better way than buying pitted olives with pimentos or garlic stuffed in them and then extracting.

Works like a charm.
I used to have an all-aluminum cherry/olive pitter of similar design that I used for years. It worked fine, although it could be finicky. After it broke, I used a plastic one with a push-button. I did not much care for it, since it was even more finicky than the aluminum one. I even tried a 6-at-a-time pitter, but I didn't love that one either. That's when I tried this one. This is by far the best one I have ever used. I no longer have to worry about putting the cherry in in exactly the right position. Its funnel design does that for me, so that the pit cleanly pops out nearly every time (I haven't yet tried it on olives). Is it sturdy? It feel sturdy, but ask me again in a few years. My one (very mild) criticism is that the little tab that holds it partially closed moves into place on its own while I'm using it, so I have to keep pushing it back in. Not a big deal, in context, for something that otherwise works this well.

If you have cherry trees, you'll want the perfect pitter!
I make homemade marachino cherries, in large batches, until cherry season is over. This is so much nicer, and easier on the hand, then my ancient pitter.Easy to get it sparkling clean, afterwards.

Does the job - Need strong grip
I bought this to pit some olives. There is a learning curve with this. It took me a few tries to get the olive in the right position, but once I did, it worked. Some of the olives required a little more pressure to remove the pits, but I was able to get it. (Note: I am almost 80 years old so my grip is not very strong)The big issue I had was the cap (pit container) kept popping off. I eventually just stopped using it. That is why I gave it a 3 star. It works fine, but requires more strength that I have and the pit container kept falliing off.
