The Galcon 7001D is a beautifully designed Battery Operated Irrigation controller. That was designed with varied landscape environments in mind. The 7001D controller is ideal for automated operation of Drip and sprinkler systems with the inline irrigation valve. Are you ready to stop watering by hand. Do you need to install a new drip or sprinkler zone and you don't have power or a free station on your existing irrigation controller. Do you have an issue with a buried irrigation wire and a valve that stopped working. No problem. The Galcon 7001D is the perfect solution to meet your needs. The Galcon 7001D operates on a single 9V alkaline battery and offers the same features of most traditional irrigation controller. The Galcon 7001D controller is available with and inline valve in the following sizes: 3/4 inch (part number GAR2S1312P0), 1 inch (part number GAR2S1322P0), 1-1/2 inch (part number GAR2S1332P0), 2 inch (part number GAR2S1342P0), This item is designed for installation above grade.

Compact design fitting my needs, but be aware...
I bought two. One works great with water coming out from a 1/2-inch pipe. The other one failed with more powerful water coming out from a 3/4-inch pipe. The inside plastic plunger slipped out of the rubber valve due to the more powerful water from the 3/4-inch pipe thereby causing in-operation. I was able to repair by securing a metal wire around the rubber valve over the plastic plunger to prevent the plastic plunger from slipping out. The two I bought work great now.
