Half the price is still fairly nice.
So I actually already owned a real Lumen Noodle, and I like it. I've used it on a couple of hiking trips and it really is quite a nifty thing. It is waterproof, throws out a lot of area light, doesn't weigh much or take a lot of space in my pack. I thought I'd pick up a couple more, but they are kind of expensive, so I rolled the dice with this knock-off instead. This really is a blatant copy of the original, at about half the price. And yes, you can definitely tell it is a knockoff. This one rattles inside its protective sleeve rather than being bonded securely to it, like the original. The wire hook you use to hang it up on stuff is weaker and more likely to break, and it also has a gap at the very end that could let water in so it is less water resistant. But what it does have going for it is that it is a warm white light, which is ultimately a lot more pleasant, overall than the cool white of the original, at least to my eyes. And it does exactly what the original does. You can set it up anywhere, or stuff it in the bag it comes in to turn the bag into a lantern, and it throws out a lot of light either way.So should you spring for the real one or would you be ok with this knockoff? I would say that if you want something that will hold up better to rough service, like extended backpacking, I would spring for the original, it is pretty clearly better made. On the other hand, if you want this for the occasional power outage or tailgate party, I'd go with this cheaper one. As long as you have modest expectations for this, it is fine.

Lights are OK - USB end is plastic.WAY to thick & wide to fit into MOST USB Battery ports!
I bought this to string on hammock ridge line inside bug net. However, before even using i TRIED TOO plug it into several external cell phone recharge batteries. The male USB end was made of plastic and was WAY to thick and WIDE to fit into the USB ports on battery. I WAS able to get it into a cheap small 300mAh external battery (one you carry in pocket) and the lights were bright (i got the soft white light version). Too bad the USB end was too big. Gave 2 stars because they DID light, they DID NOT fall apart like reviews said, and were bright. But SOMEONE at this company needs to test ehri own stuff before the sell it.

Got these for camping but they sure don't last long...
I was hoping since these were LEDs they would last for a number of hours with a battery pack. However, I took them camping without testing them first and they quickly drained my only battery pack. I tested them when I got home and the only last an hour and a half with my small battery pack. I wish these were longer lasting. The idea is a good one.

Great light, really bright. Wish you could dim.
Looks great, wish you could dim, it's quite bright! But for camp light should be great. Mine only came with 2 of the orange ties but didnt notice while using until I looked and box and saw that it was suppose to come with 3.

Light me up
Really cool lights in a well made casing. Works great for all our outdoor needs with a battery pack. Last for hours.

Poor Quality
After 3 uses, this light fell apart on the USB end, rendering it useless.
