I have one on each door and one on my truck they work very well I will get more wen needed

The kit has everything you need, but it's a bit old school. The solenoid is pretty big and the bracket that holds it has a strange design (but it works). The cable is pretty long, and the wire is long enough for a sedan, as I used it in my Nissan Versa and had a bit of slack left. I didn't use the button (it's ugly yellow and round), I just have it working from my car alarm via a relay. But, since it's just a button, you can buy another one (if you want one) that you can install on the plastic panel. Finally, setting it up the solenoid to pull the lock correctly can be tricky; you need to make sure the cable housing with the cable inside don't move when the solenoid pulls, otherwise all the momentum is lost to the motion instead of unlocking the trunk. This could potentially explain some of the troubles people are having with these kits.

A bit bigger than expected. But works

Was impressed by the components they include in the kit... appeared to offer lots of parts for many types of installations.BUT.... despite its appearance it could not pull hard enough to open a VW Bug hood... seems weird.AND... now that it is installed.... how do you return.I'm trying to connect with the manufacturer... but know this issue...

The kit is good and complete. The directions are sketchy but if you have moderate mechanical/ electrical experience it is easy to install . The pull of the motor was barely able to pull my trunk latch. Once the latch got through its initial opening it's pull was fine.

Used this to then hook up to an aftermarket remote unlock kit for my car. Was pretty straight forward and I just had to buy a relay to give it enough power to work with my remote system. I think the design of the mounting bracket is stupid and could be a problem for some applications but overall was a good buy for the price. Much better having this than having to use a key to pop my trunk every time.

Installation a little hard. Mounted solenoid on trunk lid of Corolla to enable solenoid to pull trunk latch to open. I didn't use button, as I installed it with car alarm. Forget instructions as there are so many variables. Kit did not include a cable fastener (slotted nut that cable goes in and an allen screw holds it in place). Took point off for not having slotted cable clamp. The solenoid does have a good pull, but have to adjust tension on cable to get correct results.
