Acting and Performance for Animation
S**T
A bit too academic
How do you write about acting for animation? Perhaps I was expecting too much from this book, but I found it a bit disappointing. The approach is academic, as if the reader is attending a university lecture, and as a result it suffers from vagueness and generalisation. To be fair, this is an elusive subject. But all the more reason to try to pin it down with specific examples - a DVD of examples would have been a real asset. In practical terms this book can't be used for adjusting things like timing to convey mood, it really just encourages the animator to think about the aspects of character. Not great value for the cover price.
