This little drone is awsome. Easy to set up, simple and stable flight, and in the high speed very fast for its size. It came with an extra battery for extended playtime. The camera has a very good picture quality and linked with the app and my phone (samsung a13 running android 13) first try flawlessly with no lag or choppyness at all. All around better than even expected, i would recomend this for anybody looking to learn drone flying. Great quality and the price was nice. Plus amazon had it to my door in about 10 hours from the time i placed the order like super fast. Thank you amazon, yall really got it right on this one! Id give it 10 stars if it would let me😁

Update: After contacting DeeRc and letting them know the issues I was having, they recommended replacing the drone. After a quick replacement, my experience is 180 from the original one. The D40 is a fun little drone, battery life is good, picture is way better than my d20, stability is better, control is better. Great little starter drone for those looking to get into drone flying.

Children love it. It was a gift

This is very hard to control! The remote has a lag which doesnt help. By the time you get it figured out, the battery dies! Theres two batteries but they dont last long at all. Every time you turn it on, you have to calibrate the remote. Sometimes it locks and you have to read the book to figure out you have to push the knobs downwards at the same time to unlock it. Its absolutely ridiculous. And its dangerous! You get what you pay for. Most phones are bigger so my phone does not fit in the space on the remote. Even if it did, theres a lag everywhere possible! I would return this if I could. Do not recommend!

I wasn’t sure how this drone would work for my 10 year old. Well it worked out rather well. In about half hour he was able to assembly, insert the battery and fly the drone around the house. Pairing the phone to the drone was also very easy. Honestly now I want one. My kid had fun flying around the house and outside in the yard. I think this is a winner. Wish the battery or flight time was longer but otherwise no complaint.

This a great little drone for beginners but indoors only. If you were to fly it outdoors the slightest hint of wind will carry it away. The remote controller, like some others, will not securely hold your phone but works well other than that. The drone connects to wireless very easily and the camera works well but cannot be adjusted to a different angle remotely. Manual adjustment only. No biggie for me at this price point. I would suggest that novice pilots install the included rotor blade guards!Why did I only rate it at only 3 stars? Batteries. The drone comes with 2 batteries but they'll only give you a maximum of 7 flight minutes each on low speed with limited maneuvering. The manufacturer claims 10 minutes of flight time per battery. I can only imagine 10 minutes if I were to start the rotors spinning but never leave the ground. Okay, so let's get some more batteries. You can't. As of this writing neither the manufacturer or third parties offer replacement batteries for this particular drone.The Deerc D60 drone has a battery that could have easily been used in the D40. That battery provides 20 minutes flight time on what is a larger unit than the D40. And you CAN buy replacements/spares. This is why I dinged the D40 2 stars.If not for the battery compliant I would have give this drone 5 stars. If replacement/spare batteries were available I would have given it 4 stars. This is a great little flyer but for a total of 14 minutes flight time you'll have to wait 90 minutes for battery recharge!

Great little drone for kids and adults. More of indoor use since it is very easy to loose control in wind. Customer service was great as out first unit was damaged and would not fly properly. Was able to resolve via email and received a new drone within days. Night and day difference! I also need to say the battery life is better then expected, and usually enough for us to fly for about 20 minutes using both batteries. Which is plenty if you are using this indoors.
