A bit of advice. Research the type of nest or hive. Once you find out what type of nest to hive it is, you can determine the type of spray foam or spray killer you think would be most affective. During the spring and weather warming up, I noticed a mud dauber nest forming on the front door on the ceiling overnight. Small, but mighty! Once that foam hit? A wasp immediately flew away! I honestly haven’t smelled anything. Not like hot shots where sense can make me sick. However, it has kept the wasps away. And I’m satisfied by that! I do it everyday to 3 times just to keep them from coming back. Hopefully I can get a brave soul to help knock it down and go bye bye! Ain’t no stinging bug coming by me! I’m pretty satisfied. It does take time and research (thank google) and knowledge in the bug department, to determine which type of hive it is. Then you can tell if this foam spray works quickly and effectively. Sometimes it takes a couple of brands to determine the killing ingredient for each brutal hive or nest. But so far? I do love this one! It’s powerful. Granted it has sprinkled foam but it does spray far! And that’s all that matters! It kept them stingers away!

The product works well when everything is operating as it should. I purchased a single bottle to try it out and it worked so well, I purchased 4 more. The second shipment had 1 defective bottle out of 4 where the spray mechanism was broken and would just ooze foam out of the top. The rest worked as it should. The product itself works as advertised. Coats the nests with a thick foam and seems to kill or disable the wasps on contact. Follow the instructions and spray in the early morning just before dawn or late at night when wasps are back at the nest and inactive. The spray is a narrow stream and can reach up to about 20 feet. It hit the tallest tip of my roof. Be aware that this product runs out fast if you like to coat a medium sized nest with a lot of foam. I needed a total of 5 bottles to treat around 10 medium sized and a handful of small sized nests all around the house and garage. WARNING, DO NOT stand directly under where you're spraying! Not only will you risk catching some of the mist back on yourself, the foam will drip down once you build up a good lather on the nest because, well, gravity!If you get a defective bottle (probably damaged in shipping as they don't wrap these in padding), Amazon live chat will take care of you. The automated refund/return system marks this as non-returnable so you'll have to go through an actual customer service rep.

If I sound passionate and poetic in my syntax about this product it is because I was painfully a victim to a guardian Wasp in which I was unexpectedly stung before discovering a hive underneath one of my patio furniture on my deck! Also, as I reveled in pain, the same guardian wasp flew away after his dastardly deed and I swore I heard a chuckle of content coming from him! After that, I knew I had to exact revenge and make sure no more shall these cold, unconcerning, and dangerous creatures hurt another unsuspecting innocent victim! I knew I had to turn to my fellow brothers and sisters of the Amazon world and find a product that could decisively regain my honor and dignity! I logged on, performed a search based on customer reviews, purchased, and in one day, it came! I read the instructions, armed myself, and mentally prepared to do battle! I stealthily approached making sure it was past 5pm when they are all chillin inactive in their hive gloating over all the discomfort they cause that day! I aimed and unleashed a glorious blast of streaming foam from 15 feet away! The foam rapidly and completely engulfed the whole entire hive! Encapsulating all it's gloating occupants and the hive! Only 2 of 100 escaped the wrath that I had just unleashed! I re-aimed and blast them again for good measure not worrying about the 2 that had escaped. Afterall, you must leave a few behind so they can past on the fear of the hell that they had just witnessed! There was no chance! Ortho's Home Defense Hornet & Wasp Killer had completely annihilated the invading horde! Taking away all their expectations of life, liberty, and the use of my lawn chair! I walked away with arms raised with the can of Ortho Home Defense Hornet & Wasp Killer high above and being totally satisfied in the performance and outcome of this product! If you ever find yourself under the same circumstances I was in, fear not, buy this magnificent product and regain dignity and use of your property in which we pay far too much property taxes on!!! Power to the people!!! LOL 😂 Ok, all drama aside, wasps, hornets, bees and much are needed and important to your world of nature. But, when they do nest and become a danger to people and pets, especially those who are allergic to their sting, this is the product to use to quickly take of things! Hope you guys enjoyed my over-dramatizing of my encounter! LOL 😂

I used the product on a Paper Wasp Yellow Jacket nest under the eave of an out building, and was surprised by the steam of foam that came out of the can. I suppose that I would have been prepared for the stream of foam if I had read the can closely but, I am legally blind and just didn't see it listed on the can.The foam knocked down the active adult wasps on the nest and killed them. It also soaked the nest quite well and hopefully killed the wasps that had not emerged from their larva or pupa stage, but I have not checked that out.The product seems to work well and the foam stream that it produces seems to shoot out to around 15 to 20 feet. My only issue with the product is that it seems to not produce very much of the foamy product. By that, I mean to say that it does not produce as much killing stream as other products that I have used in the past,and that is why I gave a 4 star rating in the "Value for Money" section of this review.I have repurchased the product just to have on hand when other nests are spotted. I will update this review when I have depleted those not yet used cans.
