These carpenter pencils are very tough and we'll built. They come with numerous refills of black, red, and yellow replacement leads which are easy to replace, and easy to use. Each pencil has a sharpener with it that stores in the opposite end. The design makes them easier to use than a normal pencil especially in those hard to reach places. The thickness of the lead makes it harder to break.

I have not used this pencil set very much, but they offer a vast improvement over my previous method of outlining my knife scales with larger felt tip markers prior to cutting out the scales for my knife handles. However, I found myself needing to sand more material on my belt sander to bring the scales flush with steel blank. With finer, thinner lines, sawing the scales on my bandsaw is much more precise reducing the excess wood material needing to be sanded.

Great product

These are very handy to have when you need to work with and mark multiple materials with dark surfaces. Great on steel, laminate flooring, and counter laminates, that I can vouch for. Didn’t work great on a high gloss finish, but that was just once out of hundreds of uses.

They do their job.But, I have trouble using them because of age-related problems with my hands.
