Mohawk Home 5' x 8' Non Slip Rug Pad Gripper 1/4 Thick Dual Surface Felt + Rubber Gripper - Safe for All Floors

I have had this rug pad for a couple months or so and am so thankful I made the purchase! It was very easy to “install” and didn’t take much time. I use it with my living room rug, which gets used by a family of three including a child and dogs. It adds much needed protection as well as grip. There is a huge difference in comfort from before we got the rug pad. The addition of the soft top as well as grippy bottom just makes me feel like my rug and my floors are both well protected and will have better longevity. We got the 1/4 inch thick and it seems like that is a nice width for our living room rug. I was worried that it wouldn’t feel comfortable but it really does. It brings the sides of the rug up a little bit, however, it has not been an issue at all. I think a thicker pad maybe would have brought it up too much.For the price, this is a great purchase! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and comfortable rug pad.

The backing really keeps the rug in place. However the 8x10 was NOT an 8x10 it was more 10x9 and therefore you had to cut it to fit. I had to go buy special scissors to cut through it. Great cushion overall a good buy but be prepared to alter it to work.

Hmmm. My initial, attempted review, which Amazon requested, got canned for not meeting community standards. No swear words, no rude language. I guess I was not upbeat enough. So: The express shipping that I paid extra for but that did not happen was awesome! The best! It was great! (How am I doing this time?)

I ordered this rug pad to be placed under a runner rug in a house that I just moved into. I have recently purchased two other Mohawk rug pads in larger sizes that work very well under my rugs. I realized that the closet door in my hallway did not have enough clearance to open over the rug and rug pad and I needed to return both. In the past, Amazon has had quick and easy returns, but I have noticed in the last few weeks that their return policy is no longer as customer-friendly.First, there was a $6.99 charge deducted from my return order. The rug pad arrived in a clear package with no other external box or packaging. I put the return label over the original shipping label and took it to the UPS store to send it back. The UPS clerk notified me that Amazon would not accept the return without it being boxed or bagged. I told the clerk that this is exactly the way the rug pad had been delivered to me and I was returning it in the same, unopened, condition. To be able to return it, I had to pay an ADDITIONAL $5 charge to place the rug pad packaging in a poly bag. So I have lost $12 off of my return price.The rug pad works well and adds cushioning and comfort under a rug but make absolute sure that it is exactly what you need unless you want to pay through the nose for return shipping fees!

I don't usually write reviews, but as I believe this is a safety issue I felt it was my moral obligation to write it.I ordered several of these Mohawk Home Non-Slip Rug Pads during January and February of 2024. The odor is nauseating. I put them outside during the day to air them out but it didn't help at all. The disgusting smell began to increase throughout my house and I couldn't get the odor to go away. I woke up in the middle of the night and had to run into the bathroom feeling light-headed and nauseous. I reported this directly to Mohawk and I was told they recently had a "bad batch," and they believed the odor was most likely caused by contaminated dye that was added to the latex for color.The smell intensified, especially while my heat was on, so I had a service call with an HVAC/Duct company. He explained that the odor from the rug pads was blown throughout my house when the heat was on and then the return vent sucked up the air sending it back to my heating system which then circulated the horrific-smelling air throughout my entire house. He cleaned and deodorized the HVAC system which helped somewhat, but the smell lingers in my furniture, rugs, blankets, etc. I have been washing everything non-stop and have sprayed Febreze everywhere. I looked back through the Amazon reviews about these Mohawk rug pads and I have found many other people complaining about the dreadful stench, and this goes all the way back to 2020. So the reason given to me by Mohawk for the atrocious odor being caused by a "bad batch" that recently occurred is not only unacceptable but complete hogwash.I contacted the EPA as well as filed a complaint with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission about this issue. It is well known that VOCs, Volatile Organic Compounds, are found in many products, including rug pads, and can lead to poor indoor air quality causing numerous issues including respiratory symptoms. VOCs can be carcinogenic to human beings. I have been nauseated, dizzy, and cannot get this sickening odor out of my house. I have tried using strong mouthwash, chewing peppermint gum, and drinking peppermint tea but I cannot get that horrific smell out of my nose or respiratory tract that has come from these disgusting Mohawk rug pads.I am grateful to Amazon for refunding my money for the four Mohawk Home Non-Slip Rug Pads, but I am concerned that nothing was done to resolve the real issue, the safety issue of these rug pads. I recommended to Amazon that they take the rug pads off of their site immediately and I am hopeful that they will. I recontacted Mohawk yesterday, March 18, 2024, via email, sending them the Amazon reviews with odor issues as far back as 2020 and the response I got was, "This was from 2020 and these people might have some kind of "allergy" that make them more sensitive to certain things." They have swept the rug pad odor issue under the rug. No pun intended. I am extremely dissatisfied with Mohawk and will never purchase anything from the company again.

The rug pad was super easy to lay down and trim as needed for our rug. No smell or concerns at all! It also is thick enough to protect under the rug but not too thick where the rug comes up and creates a trip hazard. Highly recommend!

This has made a huge difference in the feel of a throw rug. Now it is very soft underfoot and my dog has a cushioned landing when jumping down from the bed. I cut it a bit smaller so I could put carpet tape on the edges so all is snug and not shifting.. Easy to vacuum too.

Love this pad. Holds the carpet in place and very plush
