Great quality battery…just be sure to charge it before using it
I bought a 49cc scooter recently, and the battery was garbage amongst several other things. After a lot of research, I settled on this little battery. I saw a video of this guy talkin bout this exact battery lasting him 8 years, and that’s what pushed me to buy this one for $43 over the $20 that I was checking out. I made the right choice for sure. This is an AGM battery which means it’s pretty much maintenance free after initial filling of the electrolyte. There’s great directions that come in the box with the battery showing how to add the electrolyte. Just a couple things I wish I had read in a review: let the electrolyte vials stay on top draining into the battery for 30 minutes to an hour, then tap the side of the battery a couple light taps to get any air bubbles out, and then immediately seal the battery with the provided cap. After this, you still have to activate the battery by charging it fully. Apparently this will greatly decrease the performance of the battery if you neglect to do this crucial step. Luckily, I asked my hubby if I should charge it before using it even though it was at 12.6v just after adding the acid. Hope this review helps someone!

Great battery, great price
I bought a used bike with one of these in it. I ran it three years and replaced it with another one, for a preventative measure. I put the one I took out in my granddaughters four wheeler. A year later it is still going strong.

I don't understand how this yuasa is a dud
Yuasa is a reputable company that that has been used in at least the top 4 Japanese motorcycle/atv manufacturers as stock equipment for many, many years. I followed the setup instructions as I have in about 30 years of motorcycle ownership and this one just gave up. Purchased 2/24/05 and probably set up and on a trickle charger shortly after. Now it's 4/8/25 after back on the trickle charger for a few days, it's not coming back. This will be the first time in my yuasa history that a battery has given up this incredibly quickly. There is nothing wrong with my scooter's charging system and even if the ignition switch is left on, it has zero draw. Pretty disappointed in it. May be a fluke, but it would be the first. Not sure if I'll get another yuasa or not.

did not include instructions for adding Electrolyte
I have bought this battery in past for my lawn Mower & it came with instructions to add Electrolyte. This time the only instructions included stated it was fully charged, which it wasn't since Electrolyte was not inside battery but in a separate container. Luckily I saved my instructions from last time I bought the battery was in August 2021. Good battery otherwise.

Quality product
Quality product. I have multiple Honda Spree scooters that constantly gave me problems when trying to start using the electric starter. I went though three Chinese made batteries from three different manufacturers before trying the Yuasa, night and day difference. Yuasa is not the #1 OEM supplier for motorcycle manufacturers by accident, their product has proven to be head an shoulders above the Brand X Chinese products in my experience and has made starting my scooters simple and worry free.
