Is this the new formula with 25% protein?

Yes. No chickpeas in the new formula. Kibble size is a little larger but my 5lb 7 yr old Crested with only a few teeth has no problem with eating the larger size pieces.

Does the bag they send have chickpeas?

No not that I'm aware of. I use it for my severe allergic dog because it has so few ingredients.

Do you get the new formula without chickpeas as shown in the photos or do they send you the old formula?

I ordered the new smoked turkey and according to the label on the bag their are no chickpeas listed in the ingredients. The kibble size is a little larger in the new formula but my 5lb, 7yr old Crested with only a few teeth has no problem with eating the larger pieces.
