Safety Works SWX00320 Multi-Purpose Respirator Half-Mask Niosh Ov/AG/P100, Grey/Blue

My first review -> The elastic straps are wimpy and will probable only last for a short while. Thought I was getting a large size-my fault for not being careful enough, but the too small size coupled with the wimpy straps makes them barely workable.I was not happy with this purchase as you can tell from above, but now I have had more time using the respirator because it is all I had. I wanted to get some fiberglass work done yesterday and it is too cool here at my location to have the doors up on the garage. So with just a door partly opened I ended up working 4 hours wearing this mask and it was surprisingly comfortable with absolutely no vapor smells coming through. I was in multiple work positions doing fiberglass layup work, a couple hours of prep and hand sanding and some sit-down electrical wiring the whole time wearing this respirator.My work history included the need for wearing a respirator and this one is hands down superior. The face sealing plastic has a 'gripe' to it on my face maintaining the seal no matter my position or movements (even yelling at the dog to shut up and quit barking). The lightweight filters are a plus over the metal ones we were issued at work. The straps provide the perfect flexibility and stretchiness required to maintain the seal and keep the rig comfortable - after I figured out how tight to adjust them.I am very happy with this respirator and totally recommend them.What was the difference you ask? Well, I was an idiot and thought I could use these without a totally clean shaven face for the sealing surface and that I could just tighten the straps down tight. I was wrong. Now that I keep the sealing area clean and shaven the blue plastic nearly grips onto my face without the straps.So there you have it. If you are looking for a good respirator to use in highly toxic vapors this is the one. I have sprayed MEK, acetone, toluene and polyester resins without smelling any of them. Oh yeah, I'm a larger frame person at 6' 4" - 265 lbs. The medium size works for me.

It's SO hard to find respirators during the covid pandemic. We truly needed this N100 quality of respirator for sanding and repainting a toxic epoxy paint in the bilges of our sailboat. Thankfully I was able to buy these and they worked very well. They completely eliminated the smell of the Amerlock paint and gave me confidence I was protecting my lungs through their filters. The mask is quite comfortable (easier to wear long term than a surgical mask surprisingly). The attachments over the top of the head and around the lower back of the head are easy to adjust and do a good job holding the mask on snugly but not too tightly.

works great for me. the head strap could be stronger but no problems happen so far as date. It's been months sense getting it.

I have 4 of these as they are an excellent value.I use them for cutting the grass to messing with paint stripper and they filter out all the smells

Kept out EVERYTHING while blowing in cellulose insulation. By the way, placing cardboard (smaller than the opening being accessed - 8" floor joists installe16" on center) reduced airborne particles by about 20-25%. Also, the leaf blower method mentioned by others DOES WORK! Using a 20 gallon shop vac canister that I had on hand let the 2nd person feed cellulose insulation right in the attic. Much more convenient than transporting and then running a huge long hose from an outdoors apparatus Home Depot. Earplugs are advised because the leaf blower's noise is substantial. After several hours moving along rough sawn boards in an antique house attic, the Tyvek jumpsuit still has no rips or wear-thru.

I bought this because I stain furniture quite frequently and use poly. I have asthma so my nose is pretty sensitive to smells. My previous mask wasn't really helping keep out the smell of stain and polyurethane which was killing my lungs. So far this mask has been extremely helpful, although I haven't been using stain a lot recently.

Fits great and filters out fiberglass styrene odor.

Felt very secure using this for scraping old dusty paint off of walls and ceilings. I think others have mentioned this, but my only gripe is that it is only held on the lower part of your face by gravity. So if you bend down it will swing away from your face. Most of what I was doing I was upright, so it wasn't too big of a deal.
