I have had this rug pad for a couple months or so and am so thankful I made the purchase! It was very easy to “install” and didn’t take much time. I use it with my living room rug, which gets used by a family of three including a child and dogs. It adds much needed protection as well as grip. There is a huge difference in comfort from before we got the rug pad. The addition of the soft top as well as grippy bottom just makes me feel like my rug and my floors are both well protected and will have better longevity. We got the 1/4 inch thick and it seems like that is a nice width for our living room rug. I was worried that it wouldn’t feel comfortable but it really does. It brings the sides of the rug up a little bit, however, it has not been an issue at all. I think a thicker pad maybe would have brought it up too much.For the price, this is a great purchase! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and comfortable rug pad.

The backing really keeps the rug in place. However the 8x10 was NOT an 8x10 it was more 10x9 and therefore you had to cut it to fit. I had to go buy special scissors to cut through it. Great cushion overall a good buy but be prepared to alter it to work.

Hmmm. My initial, attempted review, which Amazon requested, got canned for not meeting community standards. No swear words, no rude language. I guess I was not upbeat enough. So: The express shipping that I paid extra for but that did not happen was awesome! The best! It was great! (How am I doing this time?)

I ordered this rug pad to be placed under a runner rug in a house that I just moved into. I have recently purchased two other Mohawk rug pads in larger sizes that work very well under my rugs. I realized that the closet door in my hallway did not have enough clearance to open over the rug and rug pad and I needed to return both. In the past, Amazon has had quick and easy returns, but I have noticed in the last few weeks that their return policy is no longer as customer-friendly.First, there was a $6.99 charge deducted from my return order. The rug pad arrived in a clear package with no other external box or packaging. I put the return label over the original shipping label and took it to the UPS store to send it back. The UPS clerk notified me that Amazon would not accept the return without it being boxed or bagged. I told the clerk that this is exactly the way the rug pad had been delivered to me and I was returning it in the same, unopened, condition. To be able to return it, I had to pay an ADDITIONAL $5 charge to place the rug pad packaging in a poly bag. So I have lost $12 off of my return price.The rug pad works well and adds cushioning and comfort under a rug but make absolute sure that it is exactly what you need unless you want to pay through the nose for return shipping fees!

I rarely write reviews on products….. unless something is really off or dangerous.I purchased this rug pad, placed it in my living room and cut it to fit my area rug. I first noticed that later that day, my kitchen (where I placed the remnant padding in the garbage had a SUPER FOUL smell. Almost like a cross between something dead, rotten, musty, burnt rubber, and chemicals. I immediately removed the trash from the house being my little boy said it was making him want to puke and it gave me a terrible headache. It was a new trash bag and so nothing else in the trash at the time. My whole kitchen stunk…. really really bad. I immediately sprinkle carpet deodorizer on my area rug then sprayed it with febreeze proactively in the hopes that the odor was simply from the packing (it’s a newer rug in a gated room with rare traffic).The next day, I went to work and returned home……. Now my whole house smells RANCID. Like so bad it is making me nauseated. My living room is terrible (where rug pad is) but literally my whole house has the odor now. I have the odor stuck in my nose and my clothes just from being near it briefly. Unfortunately, I’m hosting 30-50 people for a baby shower in two days. Arghhhhh!! I now had to move all my furniture again and toss the pad in the snow bank and air my house via open windows in the middle of MN winter (And hope that it clears b/c I don’t want a pregnant friend by the odor).The toxic smell in my house is so irritating, my son complained that his head was hurting and his lungs hurt…. Hours after tossing it outside. 😞 It was so bad I had to ship him away to his grandparents to get him away from it.I would give this review a zero if I could. 😢 I purchased a similar pad from Mohawk 2 years ago and it was so perfect thus I bought this one. I have always been a fan of their products and my whole house has Mohawk flooring (both carpet and hardwood).I have recently read tons of reviews with same issues….. Honestly, I’m in healthcare and the pungent air pollution that is being emitted needs to be reported b/c whatever it is is not safe.When something I buy directly impacts my little child my momma bear claws come out.I will be requesting a refund and unfortunately buying one of those Bagsters being this one wont easily fit in my trash can. (And I don’t want to handle it more than I need to to dispose of it).

The rug pad was super easy to lay down and trim as needed for our rug. No smell or concerns at all! It also is thick enough to protect under the rug but not too thick where the rug comes up and creates a trip hazard. Highly recommend!

This has made a huge difference in the feel of a throw rug. Now it is very soft underfoot and my dog has a cushioned landing when jumping down from the bed. I cut it a bit smaller so I could put carpet tape on the edges so all is snug and not shifting.. Easy to vacuum too.

Works well without slipping on the wood flooring. Cushion is very nice and noticeable , adding a higher quality feel under rugs. 8x10 still needs to be cut before installing under an 8x10. Its not difficult to cut.
