Worked immediately for my Corgi
When I tested it to see if the battery needed charged, it came right on and worked. I touched the buttons for just a second to figure out which was which, and for the sonic button, my Corgi pup’s ears popped straight up and he stared very hard at the device. He tread carefully for about 15 minutes, regarding it with mingled curiosity and suspicion. Then my husband picked up my son and swung him around (he’s 13, he’s fine). Our pup—who is a year old and currently intact—ran over, barking orders, trying to restore order. I told him, “Quiet,” and, as I predicted, he ignored me. I said, “Quiet,” again and pushed the button for a split second at the same time. He released his attention from them and refocused to me immediately. I told him, “Good quiet,” and he returned to my side. They wrestled again, and he stood up, sat down, then leapt off to play referee again. I repeated the instructions and method, and this time, he was able to to maintain the good behavior during a third quick bout of wrestling. I praised him for his calmer demeanor, and he is sitting happily on the couch. He leapt off the couch to chase a cat, remembered that I correct him for this, paused to look at me, decided against causing himself more trouble, and left the cat alone. He has *never* thought better of chasing the cat on his own before; I’ve always had to tell him to, “Leave it,” and move between them. So, we’re quite thrilled thus far! Now, I don’t know how it would have helped or hindered had we attempted to use it when he was younger. I’ve definitely noticed more impulse control, maturity, desire to learn, and biddable behavior from him in the past couple of months as he becomes less baby and more teen-like in his development. We plan on adopting another pup once ours completes his training (less distraction that way), and I’ll definitely try this with him/her.

NOT a gimmick!!
This very simple device worked like magic on our over exuberantly barking beagle! And almost immediately. We have 2 rescues - Rosie and Honey. Rose is an Australian shepherd mix and Honey is a beagle (well mostly anyway). Honey was very timid when we first brought her home but after a while she found her voice and used it. Her "arroos" aren't loud but they are insistent. Now we don't care if our girls bark outside since they don't overdo it. And barking when someone arrives is just a basic instinct which we appreciate: "hey, guys! someone is here!" It's the continuous barking AFTER the person has been welcomed in and the dogs have been thanked/acknowledged for their introduction that we are opposed to. Rosie settles down quickly but not Honey. Once Honey became comfortable in our home her "Arroos" settled less erratically and then she took to barking at folks whenever they moved around the room - NOT acceptable behavior. Having been a rescue with a difficult past and quite timid when she first moved in we did not want to correct her behavior with something that would set her back. This device worked wonderfully well. When guests arrived we turned it on, if Honey's barking became unacceptable we commanded "HUSH" and then pressed the "first button". This has gotten her attention every time and she seems to understand that we want her to be quiet. After just a few uses all we need to do is point the device toward her and say "HUSH" and she stops barking. It is amazing. I admit that Honey is a pretty quick girl but this was beyond my hopes. As for Rosie - well, she looks at it and leaves the room. Since it doesn't harm her we just let it be what it is. And we get to enjoy our company. I would heartily recommend this.

Good for getting your dog to listen
I really liked that my German shepherd would immediately stop pestering his brother if I used this and he knew as soon as I pulled it out to stop what he was doing. I only had to use the beeping sound and it was great. The only thing that sucked is I bought it for my lab who barks 24/7. He does not care about it at alllll. He will continue to bark regardless of what I push or use. So unfortunately it didn’t work for my doggo for the original reason. But I would still recommend it to others.

Causes dog stress, please stop using
I purchased this because I have struggled to find training techniques to help rein by German shepherd in when he decides to go crazy barking at other dogs or whatnot. What this did is cause unbelievable amount of stress to my dog. If you know your dogs you know when they’re upset. I have a highly sensitive dog who was extremely close to me. Now he is afraid. He hides if his sister decides to bark when the door bell rings. He’s terrified. I only pressed it a handful of times before I realized I couldn’t do this, it was torturing him. I can’t believe this is on the market. I truly believe the sound is not what they’re saying to be. After seeing what happened with my dog I searched about the technique and Psychology Today has a good article on this. Stop harming our dogs. We love them. This is not the way.

It Worked!
This ultrasonic trainer has really helped us with our little Jack Russell, Annie. She's been a big barker, especially when someone comes to the front door. At first all we had to do was say, "Annie - quiet," push the trainer button and she stopped barking and jumping. She'd even leave the room. After we used the trainer for a couple of days, all we had to do was pick it up and she stopped. We only have to use it occasionally now - recently we took it to a hotel visit and it kept her from whining and barking (also the dogs across the hall!) When the trainer was used or when we said "Quiet" she would get into her kennel. Most of the time we just have to say, "Quiet" and she stops. It was a fast and efficient way to train her - granted, she is a very smart little dog! Thank you for helping us get this pup to settle down! Those who come to our door, thank you too!

Doesn't work as good as a different brand
Not sure if its the brand or the dog but this one doesn't work as good as the last one I had. But this is also a different dog with ear problems so I'm not 100% sure if its the dog or the brand. If I ever find the other one I'll edit this post.
