1/4W Resistor Starter Kit (16 Values, 400 Pieces) Resistor Assortment Kit for Hobbyists, Experiments, Science Projects

Bought this after seeing that several reviewers mentioned that JoeKnows uses thick lead resistors in this pack. Was excited after receiving the pack as I started piecing out the lower values and saw that they all were the old fashioned thick lead carbon film resistors. I can't express my disappointment when I opened 2.2k and found thin leaded resistors, observing the same thru 4.4k, 10k & 22k. After 47k it was back to thick leads, but looks to me that Joe Knows is switching to thin lead, and the ones I got that are still thick leaded was just old stock.ALSO, their selection of resistor values is very perplexing as it skips all 68 value resistors, so directly from 470 ohm to 1k. Same for 4.7k directly to 100k. This is listing in the description, but still a very perplexing choice as everyone I know that does prototyping uses those values as do I.Will not buy again.

I bought these as a cheap/convenient way to restock my passives bin with quite low expectations (carefully assembling an order with Mouser or DigiKey may end up cheaper, but what value your time?). This is a great little assortment, all neatly labelled and packaged. Fine sturdy cardboard box, good quality re-sealable baggies. While these are being sold as 5% parts (and are marked as such) the quality and consistency is high; testing a random sampling of the different values with a 120,000 count multimeter and an LCR meter (Kelvin probes used with both) consistently shows tolerances much closer to 1% in practice, even for the very low values.Granted mine is a sample size of 1, but something tells me these kits are built to a quality more than they are built down to a price. Recommended.

I needed a huge variety of resistor values to experiment with for a project. I wound up wasting a bunch of resistors between 1k and 47k Ohm, but was ultimately very happy to find a solution to my problem. If you regularly build electronic projects and need a large inventory of spare components on hand, you'll probably want to look elsewhere. If you need an inexpensive and neatly organized kit that includes a few each of a wide range of resistor values, this is a great choice.

Nice set for the price. The color on the bands are easier to see vs other ones I've purchased.Also the bags that they come in are those nice thick ones. Way better quality than a lot of other sellers. They hold their shape so it's easy to flip through and find which resistor you need.

Joe knows how to ship resistors! Sweet box, individually packed and labeled... And they are all a "light tan"! I can actually read the "color codes". I can now finally fire my "helper monkey". Thank you JOE!

They come on paper strips in individual bags. There is also a sticker on under the lid of the box to help you with the colored stripe identification. Nice touch.

SOOOOOOO stoked they are individually packaged and labeled. And they come in two packages so even if you make a mess with one set of packages you have another nest one in your workbench already
