Q: How does this compare to 3D speed?

These two products are both all in one products meaning they cut polish and seal in one step. Both are easy to use. Just personal preference I would give the edge to 3D speed. That being said my favorite AIO is Blackfire one step.

Q: Would this give decent results when applied by hand ?

Sure you can use it like a wax.

Q: Can this be used to remove oxidation from gel coat in the marine industry?

I do not have a definitive answer from experience with gel coat. I think you have a better experience with RUPES Keramik Fine Polishing Compound - the bottle with the yellow tip. I would use the new Rupes Yellow Foam pad 9.BF[size]M. The UNO Protect combines a polish and a sealant in one step. I think the polish component is more similar to the Rupes Ultra Fine Polishing compound - the bottle with the white tip. The Ultra Fine may not have enough cut for your purpose. The RUPES D-A Coarse Compound - bottle with blue tip - is a cutting compound which will " ... remove up to 1500 grit sand scratches on most automotive paints, gelcoat, and similar surfaces. The powerful cutting ability and unexpected level of finish quality produced by the RUPES D-A Coarse compound make it an ideal solution for automotive clear coat, gelcoat, lacquer, and many other surfaces in several industries." Q: What's the wait time to apply a topper coat, such as turtle wax seal and shine?

Immediately, no wait time. Uno has silicone in it a ready for as a sealant. So your "seal and shine" would be another layer of protection. Uno claims a few months of protection.
